And I have no regrets either. so you're proud of almost killing the most SP intensive role in this game, making it to where only the absolute best are viable PC fighters, and newer pilots without 20mil SP are mercilessly gunned down with no defense (not exactly the fault of AV community, but still) yet your craft of holding r1 for 1.4 to 1.05 seconds remains alive, well, and thoroughly spammed.

In PC Assault Dropships are all but dead, and still used frequently. They haven't been killed off, nor have they "almost" been killed off. In PUBs, ADSs aren't see as much due to the fact that everyone now have AV <--- No regrets there either. As for almost killing "the most SP intensive role in this game", I didn't have anything to do with Logistics being "killed off", nor did I (or would I) have anything to do with AV being "killed off". Derrith Erador wrote:yet your craft of holding r1 for 1.4 to 1.05 seconds remains alive, well, and thoroughly spammed You won't kill anything by simply holding and releasing R1, unless your fighting a parked vehicle. Really? Logis huh? I guess you not being a pilot you wouldn't know that the suit inside the cockpit matters.
Lets take a look at what logis need to skill into: Logi suit scanners rep tools uplinks hives armor repair armor plates armor buff shield extenders (depending on the logi, rechargers and regulators) shield buff Core upgrades dropsuit engineering dropsuit electronics light weapon grenades
I'm probably missing a few, but lets take a look at what pilots need for their dropsuit
dropsuit uplinks hives armor repair armor plates armor buff shield extenders shield buff Core upgrades dropsuit engineering dropsuit electronics depending on the suit, codebreakers are a must (min scout makes a good pilot suit for speed hacks, gotta care about the objective at some point) Precision enhancers Range amplifiers light weapon (long range weaponry helps our rendering) sidearm weapons grenades (fluxes)
Now let's check what we need for the ADS Shield fitting OP (admittedly, not that big an issue, wish it was TBH) Armor fitting OP Armor repair efficiency Armor plates/reps Armor movement reduction (forget the name) Shield modules Shield passive regen charge (again, forget the name, but it reduces shield recharge time) Python ROF Incubus ROF dropship skill ADS skill itself the AB skill (still forgot the name) Core grid management if you're a fan of hardeners, engine core calibration is good Vehicle engineering small turret operation missile turret operation missile turret proficiency (admitted, only lvl 3 needed) missile turret fitting OP (in a theory, you can run the best python fit with maxed out fitting OP) Missile reload speed (most important skill infact) rail turret operation rail turret reload speed rail turret ammo capacity (it runs out rather quickly without)
You'll probably say something like your ground suit is taking other roles from other suits. Half true, but allow me a few questions before you say something along those lines
Can the logi suit grow wings and fly to throw links on the high ground, then rain unholy hell upon the enemy ground troops with his rifle, while still flying? If he can, I'll be retiring.
Can the Amarr scout you'd use to scan survive an HMG burst? I'd wager no.
Can the Min scout you'd use to hack a point throw a 2 ton flying machine in front of a point to cover his hack? perhaps, but it'd take a heck of a lot longer without an ADS.
Can a properly fitted pilot suit, if shot down, survive a barrage from any rifle without the help of armor plates and shield extenders? Hell no, as it is, my pilot suit has the protection of a great value condom.
I skilled into all my ground skills to compliment my ADS and work in tandem with her, along with the others which are there in the event I'm downed and need to defend myself. You skilled into your minmando to work in tandem with your swarms, how is my skill tree any different?
And on the you can't kill vehicles unless they're parked, this must explain why I was shot down multiple times by swarms while flying at 120 meters a second, because I was parked there.
