I prefer Gallente Sentinels the most, mainly because I like the more even distribution of shields and armor but still plentiful low slots.

Choose the minmatar sent. if you want to be a scout with an HMG.  Speed heavy ftw.

Agree. Caldari are too vulnerable to flux grenades, whereas Amarr face the issue of being weak to HMGs thanks to the armor damage bonus. Gallente give a nice combo of both; my current proto Gal (with advanced shields and plates) runs at roughly 600 shields and 1000 armor.

I like the Gal sent for a rep tanker. Makes for a very autonomous fit if no logi support is available, but can be reconfigured with plates if a rep tool is present. I generally prefer the shield/armor split on the Gal. Has a nice racial bonus as well.

In a full buffer fit, Amarr have roughly 5-8%-ish more HP than the runner up (typically Gallente) but against some damage types their HP advantage is marginal at best. *points at sig*

Amarr is excellent when you have a logi medic near you, otherwise, rep tanking is a good choice.
40 kills with the most basic, cheapest possible dual-wielding standard Bolt Pistol fit...

Been a heavy since i started this game, got all 4 heavies. Ill lay some knowledge on ya. These are all adv fits, not much of a difference between proto and adv, still i protod 3 of em. Minmatar/speed heavy, heres the fit 2 kins and 2 precisions. Run faster than most scouts and get the jump on everyone. Caldari /solo repper. Fit 2 comp energizers, 1 enh extender, 1 comp reactive. Slow movement, decent reps but when your shields are gone youre useless.Gallente, my fave fit for logi support. Fit 2 comp kins, comp plate whichever one, and damage mod. Amaar is meh, if youre a bad heavy and need lots of armor at the cost of speed then get it. I usually fit 3 kins on it and a plate, but thats not really its optimal gallente does a better job w similar fit its best to tank the amaar out. I say you get minmatar thats the fun heavy, but get the heavy frame it moves faster, all the other heavies get the sentinel version. |

Amarr Sentinel against other heavies. It gets bonuses against projectile weapon (HMG), carries the most potential EHP, but is slowest. Truly a 'tank'.
Otherwise, tossup between Cal / Min. Both are maneuverable, just a preference over the Cal shield bonuses or slightly faster Min speeds. |
