I just want to chime in that the Amarr knives should not, in fact, be knives.
It should be more like the Roman gladius. Because crusading space knights need swords, not knives.

No, see, what we need is a beautiful Amarrian gladius, and a rusty Matari kukri.
Because few are the Amarrians who will sleep well at night with the thought of a Minja with a rusty kukri sneaking up on them from behind....

You must be new here, because CCP showed concept art of the racial knives. So obviously the intent is that we would eventually have a melee weapon for every race.
Also, I agree with DeadlyAztec. Knives are weapons, and having more would be awesome. |

Please remember fatties had to be Amarr before if they wanted to be fat.
They got that back so they could be fat in their preferred faction.
Then if there is a NK refund there WILL be the inevitable outcry for a rifle refund because people threw SP at stuff before CRs/RRs were available.

I just want to point out that its more than likely that all of the melee weapons- assuming they are all knives and/or shortsword analogues (like a gladius, kukri, machete, dagger, dirk, karambit, or whatever-else they use as a base)- will almost certainly fall under the same general skills of "Nova Knives".
It doesn't really make sense that they would do something else unless the different racial melee weapons are radically different from each other- like spears and gauntlets, in addition to knives, for example. |
