CCP should add the ability to buy/sell boosters for ISK from other players, mediated through the NPC market. This should be modeled after the Guild Wars 2 system of buying/selling gold. Basically, the market would keep track of supply and demand for boosters and adjust the price accordingly. CCP would retain ultimate control of prices. Boosters would effectively become the equivalent of PLEX in EVE. I suspect this would significantly increase revenue for CCP (as every booster still has to be originally paid for with real money).
The other benefit is that it may suck ISK out of the wallets of the players who managed to rake in billions back when PC was broken by giving them something to spend their ISK stockpiles on. That ISK will get redistributed to players who buy boosters with AUR and sell them to NPCs. This is a NO BRAINER!!! Do it CCP!
Best PvE idea ever!

'Give item' would add to the meta of Dust 514 for sure, even if it is just a simple function.
It will enable player trading.

Yes please. I ain't rich by any stretch of the imagination - in or out of the game - so buying boosters via ISK trading would be much more palatable to me.

A give item thing could be easily exploited I think. You finish the tutorial missions which is what join a battle (don't have to finish) and get a free active booster every 24 hours. |

The thing about the "give item" function here is that it's very likely to be similar to the "trade" function found in Eve Online where both parties (buyer and seller) need to be present at once during the private transaction.

Is the inflation in GW2 really that uncontrollable? Wouldn't it be worse if there wasn't an official mechanism for buying gold through Anet?
I think this is a very obvious way to boost revenue which will result in more patches and a more secure future for DUST and Legion.

To simplify:
Any AUR item sold to the NPC vender becomes available to buy from the NPC vender for ISK.
Allow boosters to be sold to NPC vender.

Trading items would be problematic because items would be able to "teleport" from one location to another.

@Fox Gaden, Atiim, and Vell0cet
We're not exactly sure if the items in question are strictly tied to where your character is located or if there is a common inventory where all assets can be access regardless of where you are in New Eden. At least for Dust. If the system is similar at all to Eve Online's inventory system, then that means that your assets are restricted to that one star system in which you are located.
Consider the following. My main character Maken Tosch was born in the Jolia system located in Gallente space. After submitting a petition to CCP to relocate my character, I am now located in the Mastakomon system located in Caldari Space. However, I am still able to access my assets from that new system. If Eve Online inventory system is strictly applied the same way on Dust then that means my assets had to be moved to the new system as well along with me. Kind of like a New Eden U-Haul service we never knew we had. If that is the case, then all trade would likely be local within that system. Considering that there are 48 Dust-specific star systems in New Eden (among the thousands of systems in the cluster) with about 4,000 players logged in at once at any given time, that would average to about 80 Dust players per local system. Even if trade is limited to your local system, that is still a sizable market to trade in.
But let's assume for the sake of this argument that Eve Online's strict inventory system is not applied to Dust. What that would mean is that you now have over 4,000 players to trade at any given time of the day as your assets can probably be accessed regardless of where you are in New Eden. However, this theory is looking dead on arrival if you consider the fact that your local channel doesn't really change at all when you deploy into a match that takes you to a star system that is often far away from your location (such as a 0.1 system which is in low-sec). I could be fighting in the Hek system or in Dodixie but my local chat will still be on Mastakomon.

Or the items could've be delivered, not that it matters.
I'm 95% sure that people who play this game would be much more concerned with this mechanic being implemented than they would about their being a lore-based justification to the mechanic.
(Yes, I know a delivery system would require capsuleers to transport the goods).

I cannot say with 100% certainty but I believe this is accurate. To the best of my understanding the only method that can be attained without building new code is every item being hand moved by a GM via a ticket. And when I say "building new code" I mean in both Dust and EVE.
Now, as I say, I could be wrong about this, but the above is to the best of my knowledge how things currently sit.

Can you ask around to see how it works? That can go a long way in clearing up any confusion and give us a better idea on how trade will likely be if trade is to ever become a thing at all.
