Well I'm not in front of my ps3 right but I just join the game like 4 days and I wanted to drives tank. And was informed by a friend at work the ads can shoot players with a blaster why I'm flying and that sounds cool. So I heard in need lvl 3 gallentia drop ship to pilot one so how much total sp does it cost to just fly one. I use the forums search feature and googled it and nothing came up.

Don't bother with Assault Dropships as they are now, you'll just die over and over.

Thanks for the tip but that did not answer my question I fully understand base in post I read the situation of he ads. But still want to use one to cover, transport and assist my squad. I know a ads is not a gunship. If anything I'll airstrike point and hide high in the sky avoiding av till my squad calls me. During is not a issue for me I want to have fun in a vehical if death was a issue I would not made the post.

Just to fly one, I believe you're looking at around 500K SP, but I wouldn't recommend just getting an ADS with no modules. Recently went into tanks and got some decent fits for around 1.5 million, so I'd suspect you can do the same with the ADS. They really don't take much SP, you just won't have the best of fits and you'll have to be a lot more careful to avoid getting wrecked. Will go check real quick and see what they take.

@ OP, I've been considering making a guide for ADS in GD. But I'm not sure if people would read it.

I'll get to it in about 20 minutes. I've got some business to take of beforehand.
It'll take a while to finish though, so you'll be waiting a bit.

Not so. Depends on how you use it and engage. Learn evasive maneuvering in a regular DS first. You can fit a heavy extender or heavy plate. That makes the difference. You don't need anything other than a basic turret for infantry.
If you need a DS guide look up. Judge Radamanthus' guides on Youtube and. I did one here.

You should do it man.
A couple of the guys that fly an Incubus with gunner made a pretty nice thread over in new player forums bit. Maybe collaborate with them to make something perhaps?

The way swarms and forges are now, you'll fall out of the sky repeatedly and be broke forever and ever. Dieing is apart of the game I'm not worryed about that and when I'm solo I run my free suit in ambushes I have the isk to throw away. I been killed by proto av beforewhen I run my soma. I know how to deal with av if I get shot at I'll run away and go to my squad 9/10 my squads deals with swarmers and forg gunners. This is my first mmo and fps but know as long I stick with a squad my chases of didn't or lowered. I know vehicles have an"window" in which they are hard to kill if I have to I'll run 2 Hardners do a airstrike then fly not hover. I have killed Python that hover with my miltia sica. But thanks for your input.

You will not need to spec into the Gallente or Caldari assault dropship skill tree.
Off of the top of my head for the Incubus you will need
- Level 3 Dropship Operation: Unlocks assault dropship skill tree
- Level 1 Assault Dropship Operation: Unlocks Assault Dropship
- Level 5 Core upgrades: Unlocks Complex PG upgrades, Afterburner
- Level 5 Armor modules: Complex plates and reps. You will rely on 120 mm Complex plate. which just leaves room for a complex light armor rep.
- Level 3 Armor fittings optimization: To fit the complex plates and reps
- Level 5 Small turret operation: Unlocks small missiles: Rails and Blasters are in a terrible place right now.
- Level 3 Missile turret operation: AT-1 missiles are good enough to fight infantry and not as expensive as XT-1s
It will take several million SP, you'll have to grind it out for a month or two and not invest in anything else. I'm missing out on some other necessary skills, but unless you can get these covered, don't even bother with it.
Also, you will need at least 5 million isk or more for the skill books. I'm guestimating, i can't remember a vehicle skill book under 300,000 isk, some of them are over one million isk.
Be prepared to lose about 300,000 isk per ship. Unles you have a sugar daddy corp you'll be ground pounding 3 matches for every dropship you lose to break even. You'll need to invest into your infantry suits as well. you wont need a proto suit, just about 800,000 sp to get a decent adv suit, and about the same to get your core skills up. Another 300,000 + for an adv main weapon and a side arm of your choice and you are good to go.
Spend some SP on dropuplinks, otherwise you'll spend the your time in the bottom half of the matches you fly in.
Also, the scouts and heavies getting 20, 30 40 kills in a single match ARE NOT OP.
But getting above 10 kills in an ADS is completley OP. Because you learned to fly, you are hencforth scorned by ants below.
Welcome to being a Pilot brother.
