Quote:WeGÇÿre very happy to see that our player base remains both stable and active. In fact, we are currently seeing the highest engagement numbers in over a year, averaging around 300.000 Monthly Active (unique) Users over the last few months.
I would like to thank you for including this in your Blog Post CCP Rattati.
I have been monitoring the activity levels via http://eve-offline.net/ .
The daily peak time log-in do not match the All-Time numbers for both Eve and Dust on his site, however from checking the site almost daily I see between 2950 to 4250 logging in during North/South American peak time.
That has remained very consistent over the life of Dust 514 and I use those numbers to explain Dust 514 to new players and bitter veterans alike.
A new patch and sliding in this Caldari Map will net positive results in over all server population.
It is my hope that this is a sign from Upper Management that they still see the profitability of this game on the Ps3, and recognize the strong player base demographic that South America represents. Catering to them in Portuguese and Spanish (ensuring that those forums get plenty of attention) will boost confidence in that Region. Any plans to add a server node for South America?
Keep cranking out Events and watch the sales soar!!!
Finally, I feel that your marketing of standard BPC gear Aurum packages lack incentives to buy with out the inclusion of BPO's and additional Aurum.
Militia BPO's and militia LAV BPO's can drive Package sales as they are a great incentive that provides a player a sense of value.
Full package militia BPO sets can be quite alluring if based on Racial fits and discounted correctly to save money versus buying the BPO's individually.
You have so many BPO's to work with, why not package them as complete kits and drive Aurum sales focusing on quantity of sales rather than profit per sale?
Reduce your price points, add value to the package...
This enables new players to feel invested in the game with more tools to experience all aspects of gameplay with out having to wait endless months. Of course this can only happen if the price points are dropped and more BPO's are included.
CCP Rattati thanks for the Player Count updates and your work ethic in terms of filling in the missing links such as Racial Parity, Militia BPO's, and a more active Player Event schedule.
One last thought, NPC vendors willing to buy gear is an incredible addition. Lean on your Upper Management to allow Dust 514 users to have a Closed Player Market. Beta test it for later use on Legion, as players would much rather buy that Gastun's HMG or trade for a Thale's Sniper than sell it to an NPC.

Now, everyone knows patience is not our strong point on these forums, can we not bombard the devs about a release date?
Please?

New maps, bug fixes and a 1.9 on the way.
Anyone want to say Dust is dying? 4k on at one time destiny (chappy game) gets millions at one time
Destiny had 4.6 mill in the open beta, estimated 6 million in total sales, 3.2 million are playing it daily a month after release.
A loss of 53% of it's playerbase only a month in. No sense of community, minimal clan support. 6 vs 6 PvP... cost 500 million to produce.

My personal nr 1 thing would be to get another game mode, something progressive.
NPC buy-back will boost Fac War participation a bit as the potential pay-out from losing proto-stompers would be quite a boost over average pub queues. |

This is a dead horse. Stop beating it. DUST 514 now is a completely different game than the version of beta where Skirmish 1.0 existed. The mode is simply not compatible with the current game. It would be more constructive to focus on conceptualizing ways to see a Skirmish 3.0 than any notion of bringing back Skirmish 1.0, in comparative levels of usefulness. Since Skirmish 1.0 can't be possible then do your very best to make 3.0 Better :)
I play Domination 90% of the time. It has the closest game play to that of Skirmish 1.0.
Skirmish 1.0 was based loosely on Domination from MAG, wherein you must capture and hold outside objectives to unlock the main objectives in the rear.
The Defense could then push back and recapture the secondary objectives on the front line, locking the rear objectives and thus resetting the Attackers progress.
This style of gameplay with Attackers vs Defenders coming from Static Spawn points on a linear playing field (think American football or Soccer field) is exactly why I stuck with MAG until Dust 514 came out.
Planetary Conquest is the End Game for many competitive players due to that same Attacker Vs Defender aspect.
Pub matches of Skirmish and Ambush don't provide that same feel. Dust's Domination can on certain maps.
Flanking and pushing from static spawns... that is what most FPS gamers miss out on most other IP's . |
