Im sure alot of people allready experienced this. You fight a guy around a supply depot, he then runs to it and changes the suit to get full HP and for a brief time invicibility. This is game breaking and bloody annoying cause i cant tell how many times a guy quickly switched to a suit when he had like 100HP left just so that he can mow me down in a heavy suit.
Please make it so that your current HP stays the same when switching to a other suit category. And get rid of the spawn protection you get on supply depots aswell.
Bright is the opposite of dark! Who would have thought of that?!

I find this mechanic extremely annoying as well, you shouldnt be able to switch out like this mid-firefight and giving people invincibility on change is just adding injury to injury. They need to make the Supply Depot unusable if you have been recently damaged or change the hp on your new suit to be proportional to the hp the suit you are switching from as you suggest. |

While I agree it's annoying, there are a lot of problems with fixing this.
What if you're a heavy suit and switch to a light suit?
What if you're a light suit and switch to a heavy suit?
Perhaps a fix could be to make it a percentage, though you'll still have people switch to heavy suits with more base hp.
The best option would probably be to keep things as they are and add a 5-10sec wait timer every time you want to switch. That way you can still legitimately which suits, it shouldn't be too hard to code (I assume), and id will be impossible to switch in the middle of a fight since you're vulnerable for those 5sec.

One would think that making it a percentage would be the most logical way to do it. (note: logic is not generally allowed when talking about Dust's coding.). Good idea. +1

The full health regen isn't the problem. The invulnerability is more a side effect of something akin to a session change. The system is despawning and respawning you so it treats it like spawning in from a death so you have a chance to react to threats.
The thing that would make the proces balanced would be to put a 5 asecond transition timer on the process so if you trigger a suit change you have to sit still for five seconds without the aforementioned protections.
This would mean that your focus when you are too wounded to fight your options should bde to disengage completely and go to a depot without bad guys crawling nearby or find a logi.
If you get caught by an HMG heacy or shotty scout in your Av fit it's time to see if those sidearm SP were well spent.
Because with a five second delay a militia locus grenade won't fail to nail ya. |

maybe you can't change suits if an enemy is within 20 meters of the supply depot - on the same level.

I made a post for this last week I think, but yea it just happend to me 5min ago some *** sent at 5% health because my ******* ion pistol jammed not over heated but jammed; that god dam reload bug gets me killed all the time. It fills me full of so much rage as a no cloak side arm only scout my kills are precious to me. A Full health sent that I don't knova knife first is the white rhino of kills and it was ripped away...God Dammit!

this is why it needs a delay
it's the instant repeatable swap thing. It's one of those things I answer with a forge gun upon the offending depot from on high when it gets too obnoxious. |

A 5 second delay after you choose your suit, and you are stuck in the old one until it's done. I don't know how many times I've stabbed someone who disappeared and reappeared 3 meters away in a different suit. Very frustrating. I also do not run armor reps, and when the fire fight is over, I use a supply depot to get my armor back, this mechanic should stay, this is not the problem, so I am against any sort of proportionate HP scaling.
This is also inline with the new vehicle recall timer. Same philosophy. |

ive never really had a problem from this when i played.
every second their trying to change suits at that menu is a second that their not shooting back at and and this. u can be moving forward and shooting them. i dont remember seeing anything about the supply depot making you temporarily invincible after switching suits though.
ive killed lots of suit changers though. before and after they switched.
dust 514 shall be eternal.
