DUST Search - what would you do 150m from a thales sniper?

i saw Commander of Black in the kill feed with the Thales within 20 seconds of jumping from my MCC, so i went to supply depot and changed in to my hunter fit
i found him within 2 minutes, i was standing 1m from his red line, with a clean headshot

he was in a scout ak.0 with 600 to 700 ehp

now the dilemma, do i suicide and comback with a starter sniper fit and make him feel like a bee-hatch or take him out now?

so i sat and weighed up my options, it must have been a couple of minutes i pondered, he never moved his sights, the whole time the headshot multiupler was showing

2 things were bothering me (ps dont laugh at my hunter fit, i only been playing since feb and dont have any points in scouts)

1) i was in a militia minmatar light frame, fitted with 1 militia dampner, 1 militia amplifier, and 2 militia enhancers. and a basic tactical sniper rifle, so to my knowldedge i thought if i came back in the starter fit, he would see me on his passive scan, and i could only get a headshot at this spot, not from further out

2) i checked the leader board and he only had 3 kills, what if he got board and changed to another fit

i reluctantly took him out with a double head shot and ran for my supply depot, i thought he would respawn and chase me down, but no the guy left the battle!

i kind of went against my principles, which is to take out the thales sniper in a scout suit with a starter fit, what would you have done under the circumstances?

Actually kill all the reds at any cost, they are all annoying and need to be put down. If you get killed, try again. If you get killed some more, try and alter your route and tactics. Make a point of shooting the body. If someone leaves the match before their clone is terminated, their loadout will be preserved and they will not lose the Thale's. The forums have ruined me.

Chase you down? Lol. Proto snipers run proto/officer because they count on not engaging in firefights. He's not likely to chase you down, unless he has another buddy do it. And since you appear to him as a redberry in a sea of other redberries, good luck to him. And he left battle because he thought he could save his officer/proto fit. Lolnope. If you terminated him like you claimed, he's going to find those assets gone. Hats off to you. The moral: don't **** off even the mlt guy, or he will find a way to end your proto spree. Give the Magsex some love.

Here's why, if you don't do more then 200 damage excess, he is "Bleeding out" and he saves the suit if he "leaves" battle. Always terminate clones with Officer Weapons, next time shoot his corpse and grey it out so he can't save his Thale. EDIT: I see other posters beat me to this ^^ "You see those red dots over there? Many a Thales user gets away in PUBS because they usually Thales-snipe under the scenario that the opposing team is full of noobs/cluelessberries and won't try to actively locate the sniper. Then sometimes they **** off the wrong red, and that costs them their Thales. Give the Magsex some love.

That's what I do to someone (like snipers) when I want someone to feel bad. But I think you did just fine -- one less Thale's in the universe is a good thing no matter how you do it.

What happens if he's dead and quits game while still bleeding out? At the end of a normal round, for instance, I'm fairly certain you don't lose the suit. What about if you quit? Anyone know?
