Warning Just cause it is posted on the Internet doesn't make it a fact and doesn't mean you should tear me to shreds cause its wrong and you thought it was facts its personal perspective.I am mostly a solo player but I do run in squads occasionally though cause teamwork really does make the dream work. "Stolen from a certain Academy Dropout "
Everything is getting to a pretty balanced state..a few snags here and there though.
- Assaults are in a good place atm they are able to do their role (which to me at least is applying that constant pressure). They now have the EHP and fitting capabilities to survive and engage in multiple engagements rather than be limping away throwing their gun, rocks, shoes etc at the nearest yellow suit they see after every lil scuffle hoping to receive that warm loving embrace of their rep tool. They are a versatile suit but that versatile is also their weakness.
-Commandos are weird to me their purpose is more Race orientated than Suit....depending on the Race they can be great support for assaulting players (Not assault suits, players pushing objectives) catching stragglers, cover fire, and suppression. To me their role is more of a support role they aren't meant for the frontline more of take out or suppress anything hindering the main offensive force however if need be they do have the firepower to help push forward. Their weakness is the lack of agility keeping them a slow moving target except on the occasion someone sacrifices regen or EHP for speed then they are squishy anyway just don't get too close.
-Sentinels are great as the defensive sentinel guarding and patrolling. Can reach Massive EHP pools but with speed that even a turtle may have a slight advantage over them or have a nice sized EHP with slight regen and speed. They are a force to be reckoned with specially coupled with their damn hooke....uhh logis. Their weakness depends on the suit fitting if slight regen and speed Alpha damage is their worst nightmare if slow as a turtle REs and range is their enemy. If equipped with a fine rifle most cant deal in medium-cqc.
-Logistics are in need of love.( I can only speak from the Logibro standpoint cause that is mainly how run the suit) They need at least a lil speed boost to make it easier to run around the field to rep, rez, and resupply. SPEED not STAMINA boost if the fear is that they can be as agile as Assault suits just raise the speed slightly but keep the stamina pool low. Also why not give back their innate repair back? If fitted for Logibro-ing their EHP is comparatively low not even as close of EHP as a std assault can reach which is fine it should be slightly squishier than the Assault.... 5 h/p a sec wasn't even that much but the Logibro needs every lil thing it can get... it needs to be somewhat self-sustaining to focus on sustaining others. Weakness? Its a squishy yellow bulls-eye that any smart person gets rid of to keep from aiding its allies.
-Scouts. They are fantastic. The ewar and speed makes them a deadly force. The ability to move around fast with stealth and scanning abilities makes it great for intel gathering, hacking, drawing attention and getting rid of pesky targets hindering friendly advances. Guerrilla tactics is its specialty. Most "scouty" scouts have low EHP meaning they have to get the jump or have high alpha damage weapons to make it work for example everyones favorite the shotty (which should have a .5-1 second more delay between shots I think). However it is encroaching on logibro territory with the extra equipment slot it can be fitted as a medic with the speed to get to where the help is needed faster than the logi, the scans to pick up any hostiles and EHP/regen that makes it a better self sustaining suit than the Logistical. To resolve this issue just make the scout suit's bonus apply actively to modules(probably will take some work to come up with the percentages keep that in mind) so that scouts will have to use up potential EHP slots to use their ewar power (This would only hurt "Assault Scouts" ) or take out the 2nd equipment slot and added cpu/pg it came with (if any). Applying both would just over-nerf the scout.
Not one suit should be viable for every job. You should be forced to have various fittings with various suits for various jobs depending on the battle. Most people are too stubborn and try to use 1 suit for everything and get lolrage cause it isn't working. There is a assortment of suit classes for you to skill into for a reason.
That is just my 2cents, summary, or whatever on the Suit Classes of Dust.

Logis need a look at because they are one of the most valuable targets to shoot first because it affects the overall teams performance, yet the logi suits currenlty have the lowest survivability of all suits on one of the most expensive suit to fit featuring bright yellow color so that everyone and their mother will shoot you.

It all comes down to how a logi is supposed to sustain or evade combat. If we boost ehp or give it high regen(armor rep and shield), fotm users will exploit this and become the assault logis of yesterday. I would think of a mobility increase but don't know the numbers that could be applied to evade combat while not stepping on the speeds of scouts, maybe a very high sprint speed only?
Not sure what we could do apart from logi users just needing to git gud at being aware of their duties while continually looking around for other threats, especially since they won't have their gun out.
I don't run sentinel much but when i do i give my logi a 1/4 of my pay for helping me. I had a poor squad mate keep me alive to go 0 deaths for several games in a row but he died constantly to pro knife/shotgun scouts and i was able to turn around and kill the scout but not in time to save my logi.

long post is long..
heavysuits.. - powerful but counterable - rifle weilding sentinels are still here but few and far between -commandos are slowly getting better only because of light weapon balanceing and fixes, still need some <3 for the suits tho
medium suits - assault are underused because of scout FOTYear - logi are underused because of scout FOTYear
light suits - basic.. hardly used - scout OP FOTYear
if you dont believe me look at PC nothing but scouts and heavys and pub matches are like 50% scout.. and then the other 50% is spread across assault/logi/heavy/sent/commando/vehicle

just saying. ^ THIS times by NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND..
im sick of being primary target even if it is good tactics to kill the medic but that should be a scouts job with SG or NK.. not just RR fire from everywhere.
as a logi id love to see -ehp buff* -more stamina/regen (min-more stam pool. amarr - more stam regen. caldari/gallente - a little of both) - faster movement* speed because we cant keep up with sprinting heavys AND heal them at same time while weighed down by brick tanking just to get enough hp buffer which is still poor compared to all other suits
* id rather an ehp buff over speed cause with an ehp buff we wouldnt have to brick meaning we would be fixing 2 problems at once.

Says logis are weak because they are one of the most valuable targets? Do you see the contradiction? Logis are no more expensive than assaults. Yellow color is silly, I agree. Seriously though logis are super powerful if used correctly. The only buff I'd like to see is giving the same number of equipment slots across all tiers. Example STD min logi has 4 equipment. A slight bump in capacity to compensate as well.

Logis are more expensive than assaults because of the equipment.
My protofit assault is somewhere around 170k My protofit logi is like 230k

Really? In my experience they are more expensive then scouts and assaults and heavies. Proto Equipment costs more then Proto Modules iirc as a norm. As an example my favorite hive costs about 20K, and I know that my Complex Shield Extender does not cost anywhere near that much...

A solid logi has one major advantage that is underutilized... its needle! The enemies cookie crumbs alert a good logi to sanitize that area thru active scans and coordination with a passive scout.

... Assaults and Scouts don't have a role( or a suitable one) Assaults just have buffed up eHP and nothing else besides killing potential, which is not a role. Scouts have no functions that correlate with actual scouting and have unnecessary versatility that no one should really have when it comes to soloing. Pretty much sentinels and commandos are a pure defense and offensive class combined into one. Both of which are highly exploitable and thus sometimes too powerful, or useless to teams in the case of assaults and scouts. Sentinels would be alright if they couldn't equip light weapons and didn't have dispersion on HMG wide enough for smart players to not be able to outrun their turning speed or such. Or have less HP in the defensive feature they are not known to tank best with(that being whether they shield or armour tank) Logistics indeed need changes, because they've no survival advantages, and only prototype logistics or so gain high survivability. Too high in some cases. |

Well I guess it depends on how you fit but both my pro assault and logi cost me ~200k. Really doesn't matter considering how easy it is to top the leaderboards with a logi = more isk.

logic and reading fail.
first of all, logis are more expensive. they have around the same amount of mid and low slots as assaults but they also have equipmen on top of that which is expensive, especially proto equipment (which you want to fit as a real logi)
second, logis are not "weak" because they are valuable targets, logis are weak because logi needs the same survivability as everyone else do to their job in combat, yet have the lowest and yellow colors on top of that thus anyone that sees you knows you are a logi aka the easist to kill.
next please. |

Oh and by the way the whole expense thing is still stupid. Assaults typically field 2 expensive weapons and grenade which can easily go 100k+ alone. If you are using expensive weapons on your logi suit your an idiot. Not to mention how easy it is to top the leaderboards with a logi = more isk anyway. Plus I tend to die far less in my logi suit than I do in my assault as I surround myself with friendlies. All of this is irrelevant as it depends on your skill and fitting choices. I was just saying that this argument is a bad one.

You want thoughts, I will give you my thoughts son.
Scouts - Fun =D
Heavies - boring, slow bags of EWAR blind s**t but a necessary evil when one wishes to forge gun.
Assaults - a few of them server a purpose I suppose
Logistics - I have them but I think they are a little stale and underwhelming ( an almost unbelievable thought considering their history)
