Warning Just cause it is posted on the Internet doesn't make it a fact and doesn't mean you should tear me to shreds cause its wrong and you thought it was facts its personal perspective.I am mostly a solo player but I do run in squads occasionally though cause teamwork really does make the dream work. "Stolen from a certain Academy Dropout "
Everything is getting to a pretty balanced state..a few snags here and there though.
- Assaults are in a good place atm they are able to do their role (which to me at least is applying that constant pressure). They now have the EHP and fitting capabilities to survive and engage in multiple engagements rather than be limping away throwing their gun, rocks, shoes etc at the nearest yellow suit they see after every lil scuffle hoping to receive that warm loving embrace of their rep tool. They are a versatile suit but that versatile is also their weakness.
-Commandos are weird to me their purpose is more Race orientated than Suit....depending on the Race they can be great support for assaulting players (Not assault suits, players pushing objectives) catching stragglers, cover fire, and suppression. To me their role is more of a support role they aren't meant for the frontline more of take out or suppress anything hindering the main offensive force however if need be they do have the firepower to help push forward. Their weakness is the lack of agility keeping them a slow moving target except on the occasion someone sacrifices regen or EHP for speed then they are squishy anyway just don't get too close.
-Sentinels are great as the defensive sentinel guarding and patrolling. Can reach Massive EHP pools but with speed that even a turtle may have a slight advantage over them or have a nice sized EHP with slight regen and speed. They are a force to be reckoned with specially coupled with their damn hooke....uhh logis. Their weakness depends on the suit fitting if slight regen and speed Alpha damage is their worst nightmare if slow as a turtle REs and range is their enemy. If equipped with a fine rifle most cant deal in medium-cqc.
-Logistics are in need of love.( I can only speak from the Logibro standpoint cause that is mainly how run the suit) They need at least a lil speed boost to make it easier to run around the field to rep, rez, and resupply. SPEED not STAMINA boost if the fear is that they can be as agile as Assault suits just raise the speed slightly but keep the stamina pool low. Also why not give back their innate repair back? If fitted for Logibro-ing their EHP is comparatively low not even as close of EHP as a std assault can reach which is fine it should be slightly squishier than the Assault.... 5 h/p a sec wasn't even that much but the Logibro needs every lil thing it can get... it needs to be somewhat self-sustaining to focus on sustaining others. Weakness? Its a squishy yellow bulls-eye that any smart person gets rid of to keep from aiding its allies.
-Scouts. They are fantastic. The ewar and speed makes them a deadly force. The ability to move around fast with stealth and scanning abilities makes it great for intel gathering, hacking, drawing attention and getting rid of pesky targets hindering friendly advances. Guerrilla tactics is its specialty. Most "scouty" scouts have low EHP meaning they have to get the jump or have high alpha damage weapons to make it work for example everyones favorite the shotty (which should have a .5-1 second more delay between shots I think). However it is encroaching on logibro territory with the extra equipment slot it can be fitted as a medic with the speed to get to where the help is needed faster than the logi, the scans to pick up any hostiles and EHP/regen that makes it a better self sustaining suit than the Logistical. To resolve this issue just make the scout suit's bonus apply actively to modules(probably will take some work to come up with the percentages keep that in mind) so that scouts will have to use up potential EHP slots to use their ewar power (This would only hurt "Assault Scouts" ) or take out the 2nd equipment slot and added cpu/pg it came with (if any). Applying both would just over-nerf the scout.
Not one suit should be viable for every job. You should be forced to have various fittings with various suits for various jobs depending on the battle. Most people are too stubborn and try to use 1 suit for everything and get lolrage cause it isn't working. There is a assortment of suit classes for you to skill into for a reason.
That is just my 2cents, summary, or whatever on the Suit Classes of Dust.
