I did some research on that. It appears that World of Darkness suffered from a severe lack of development focus and a great deal of scope creep. Basically they were trying all sorts of stuff they thought would be neat, but although they had about four complete working builds, then kept scrapping them to try different approaches. They really did not know what they wanted, and did not focus on achievable objectives to get a finished product out the door.

I have more hope for Legion. CCP Rouge has said some stuff that makes me think that he has a focused set of objectives for Legion launch, plus they have all the combat mechanics and numbers worked out from DUST that can be reused. So: Open Salvage districts with NPC Drones with short tempers, Instanced matches copied from DUST, Combat Systems Copied from DUST, Player to Player Market, Mail system from EVE, Corp Management from EVE, and it is ready for release. Add bells and whistles in future expansions.

They might surprise everyone though. Thnx they lock threads after certain amount of time (weeks or months idk) if there is no one else posting on it. Agreed, other huge companies might cancel projects that have had a lot of work put into them but I CCP doesn't really have the time or money to waste on getting teams together to work on something for about a year and dump it. All this silence about Legion from CCP is probably a good thing, might be cuz they're focusing the development of the game. Or working on a presentation about why they couldn't accomplish this vision of EVE and Dust/Legion and why it will never happen. Supporter of EVE LEGION

But they seem to communicate more with their community more about the development of their game than CCP says about Legion. All we've seen are two screen shots of what the market MIGHT look like. And that's it, only a bit of discussions here and there on this part of the forums but it's just like before last fanfest :Talk about what the game could be. The thought of waiting longer kind of makes me think about how long we waited for Fanfest to see what CCP had for Dust 514 only to be shocked and mostly disappointed about a decision they made 7 months before fanfest.
