My proposal, for what it's worth:
OB#1 - 3k WP (+3000) OB#2 - 7k WP (+4000) OB#3 - 12k WP (+5000) OB#4 - 17k WP (+5000) ...
The underlying observation is 5k WP makes the first OB happen too late in the round to have a substantive effect. The above proposal solves that, but also doesn't allow too many OBs per squad with the increasing WP between subsequent OBs. |

I would like to see OB go back to their original cost but kill everything it touches. That includes members of your own team, yourself, uplinks, and vehicles, etc. Obviously you would have to tweak the friendly fire mechanic to do this but it has never made any sense to me to have a a team be immune to a major bombardment like this. |

I don't think that is going to happen (too much coding/client side changes?) but it is definitely a good idea. Having people rush in as the OB is falling on a point doesn't really make any sense.

In almost every game I see it. It slowes the game down to a crawl, there really isn't any sort of urgency left in way too many battles.
Earlier we could always flush the roof camping turds down with an OB, these days though, nothing works short of grabbing a RR, Sniper or a what-the-flux Bolt pistol.
I'd rather die 3 stupid and horribly unjust deaths per game rather than getting bored to alcoholism by engaging people long range that merely have to backstep 1 m to be out of harms way.

its kid of stupid.. when the change first hit i was an advocate against the massive cost hike and people were against me.. but now those same people are complaining the cost is "Too damn high" i just love how these hypocrites are doing a 180 now.
i proposed BOTH 3750 and 4000 points to deliver "the hurt" but nooo the bittervets are just too damn bitter :P

OB spam anything that was giving you problems was a crutch, the fact that the game slows down long enough to allow momentum swings is a good thing. any one can take out a tanked dropship since the dropship nerf and swarm tripple buff.

No its more about two things:
1. Map design. There are just way too many spots on every single map that is superb for rooftop camping.
2. The horrible Dust player base. Where camping on a rooftop is considered "using tactics". Too many people are too concerned with their KDR rather than having a fast paced fun game. Well, many might indeed find it fun to camp in one spot for 10 minutes, taking potshots at whatever is passing by in the distance. A large part of the player base coming from a "slow paced point and click in space" -game might have something to do with it. orbitals.. for all those juicy rooftops filled with redberrys! remember those days? i do too..
