The new dispersion Post rattati did was excellemt. Assault hms are meant to be weapons for distance so why not also tamper with its dispersion while aiming down sights.
make it 0 so there is none. This qould make it function, while aiming down sights, like the old hmg before the accuracy rating was changed. The damage will be completly concentrated in the center dot permiting the weapon to deal more damage at range based on more bullets hitting the opponent.

I did the video but the thing is that that pint piint accuracy made it viable for distance work. Since the dispersion will only be set to 0 whioe the person is aiming down sights, it will continue to function as the regular hmg when hipfired. It gives an option when you need your bullets to hit your mark at long range while also retaining the spray and pray for thos "OMG WTF SCOUT!" Moment.
I think ccp should at least consider this in their internal testing and see how it feels. It takes more skill to use that way but the good thing is that its only when its long range.
I think its worth a try instead of having to think about 20 different stat changes that could possibly unbalance the weapon further.

Make the assault HMG start with a very small dispersion pattern that expands as it overheats.
That way it acts like a decent ranged weapon but doesn't become pinpoint accurate and behaves similarly to a normal automatic ranged weapon.
Give it a little more range but leave the damage output per bullet low. |
