Me too. I skipped out on buying the Sever suits, but I know as soon as Raven or Valor comes around I'm definitely picking up at least 1 (maybe 2).

The thing is CCP is sooooo close to getting it right with BPO's. I think they should do a couple of things and they'll be golden when it comes to BPOs.
1) no BPO's of suits past standard lvl. No BPO's of vehicles. No BPO's of sidearms past standard level. No BPO's of main weapons past militia levels.
2) drop the price just a little bit to make them more of an impulse buy.
3)have one guy at CCP do nothing but come up with new designs, colors, patterns whatever. Cool designs, cute designs, joke designs. Anything that looks awesome, cute and or funny. all day, every day.
4) start bringing them to the market through promotions, holidays, special events etc.
Bring out a Halloween themed BPO with jack -oh-lantern grins on the helmets. Next month for Autumn bring out some light golden and red Amarr suits for thanksgiving. Christmas, bring out some red and green Gallente suits etc. Give them all cool names so they stick out on the kill feed. People will buy them.
Also, I think those who win special events should be given the option to buy event suits. So anyone who wins the sidearm challenge can get a special suit showing how awesome they are etc.

But there are the 'Dren' and 'Templar' BPO weapons. Those include STD Light Weapons.
I know. I would like to have them too, but I think with how the meta seems to change so much with every hotfix, by keeping the main weapons only at militia it prevents people from getting a super cheap fotm. Suits at standard with their skill lvl at 5 are already pretty scary. A standard weapon at skill lvl 5 with the suit is too much of a "free" advantage. But It's up to CCP.
If they feel like having standard lvl BPO's of weapons then bring them. (^_^ )
btw, I always considered the Dragonfly, Dren, Covenant, and Templar stuff as special promotional items. So they are kind of outside the norm of what the rest of us can get. We were just unlucky enough to not have been around when they came out.
