I think it would help push Legion development in the right direction if EVE players were more informed about and interested in the potential for a EVE/Legion link. I think that CCPGÇÖs fear of a backlash from its EVE player-base is making them cautious about introducing substantial links between EVE and Legion. I feel that creating an upswelling of interest in the EVE community could help push CCP toward greater integration between EVE, Legion, and Valarie.
I propose that we pick a day, and every DUST player that has an EVE account all go to the EVE forum on the same day and begin to talk about the potential for the EVE/Legion link.
Guidelines: -Talk about the benefits to EVE. The posts must be EVE centric, or they will just be moved to the DUST 514 subforum. -Be constructive. The goal is to get EVE playerGÇÖs interest and support, not to annoy them. -DonGÇÖt draw the wrath of the moderators! No Spamming. Keep it civil. -Post in any EVE/Legion link threads you can find to keep the conversation going. -LetGÇÖs try for quality and persistence to gain notice, rather than quantity and annoyance which will result in us being ignored.
We should have an active thread on the DUST forum where you can post links to your posts on the EVE forum, so we can keep track of posts in sub forums such as Science & Industry, Market Discussions, or to find posts that fall off the front page of the General Discussion forum.
The idea is to blob the forum to achieve a PR victory by swaying public opinion in favour of a strong EVE/Legion link. Because if we donGÇÖt have EVE player support, getting any form of EVE/Legion link will be an uphill battle!
So who is with me? And when should the Blitz commence?

It should be on a weekday I think, when most of us are at work. Because if we were home we would be playing rather than typing on the forums.
Also, you can post your draft post ideas here, and polish them up in preparation for the Blitz, or to suggest for someone else to post for you if you donGÇÖt have an active EVE account. Copy & Past is a wonderful thing, as is the edit button for getting a post just right.

Jebus McKing wrote:The only thing EVE players care for is EVE. No amount of PR will change that.
But there is hope.
EVE players also are ******. Give them ISK and they will do anything.
Let them earn a bit of some irrelevant virtual currency for helping us and they will happily continue to pay for their subs so we can play DUST/Legion for free.
Exactly!
So topics should focus on how the Legion Link will make EVE better.
A few topic ideas: -Shipping contracts for moving DUST gear. -Manufacturing DUST gear. -Market speculation on DUST gear. -Contracts to move clones. Warbarge. -Actual useful bonuses EVE side for District ownership. -Faction Warfare impact. Kill mails. - PVP opportunities preying on Orbital Bombardment ships. -Exploration, combined operations.

[Market Discussions forum]
Profit from the Legion market (Speculation and Cargo Contracts)
The introduction of the Legion market could provide interesting contend for EVE if it is done right.
Assuming that Legion will be like DUST in that the Legionary will be based out of 48 space stations around New Eden, we can assume that Legionary will only have instant access to gear they buy from their home stationGÇÖs market. Since those markets will be based on salvage (and hopefully EVE side manufacturing later) there will be substantial market fluctuations on items between the 48 stations.
Speculation:
This means that EVE pilots should be able to look for Legion items that are selling low in one system, buy them, and sell them again in a system where they go for a much higher price. This would serve as a good introduction into market speculation for new players as Legion gear would not take up much cargo space (with the exception of Tanks and Dropships), so this trade could be done in Frigates.
Cargo Contracts:
Dealing with micro contracts would just be too much of a pain, so I propose that there should be standing Cargo Contracts at each Legion station for each of the other 47 stations, and every time an item gets purchased remotely it would get added to the Cargo Contract headed to the buyerGÇÖs station. Individually these Cargo Contracts would not be big most of the time (although they would be big sometimes) you could create a circuit, picking up the contracts for 10 systems, and then flying to each of those 10 systems picking up all the other contracts for those 10 systems. Once you do a complete circuit of those 10 systems you could do the same for another 10 systems. All those little contracts could add up quickly.
Of course there would have to be a fall back mechanism in place if no EVE players pick up a Cargo Contract. My proposal would be an NPC freighter that makes the circuit of all 48 stations over the course of a week. That way the Legionary would not have to wait more than a week to get the stuff they ordered from distant markets.
It would also be good if Legionary could place a bonus on delivery of their purchases to encourage EVE pilots to take the contract and bring the goods faster.
Without EVE player support we may never get a meaningful economic link with Legion. Show your support for the Legion Link!

Vell0cet wrote:The big complaint I always hear about EVE is that it's stale. Legion integration has the potential to add a whole new layer of depth to the game and to drive new and interesting types of conflict.
There's a thread I wrote a while back on how to do a combined PvE through exploration linked in my sig. Someone posted it up in the EVE forum, and it got a pretty lukewarm reception there, despite lots of enthusiasm on the DUST thread. I still think it would be incredible to have the equivalent of "Dungeons" in Legion where your squad is deployed to a wreck in EVE by a pilot who shares coms with your squad. There would be 2-way interaction where actions in EVE would trigger events in Legion and vice-versa. Imagine working your way through a Deadspace-like wreck with dark corridors, traps that trigger rat spawns in EVE, turrets to hack that will assist your EVE pilot, generators that the EVE pilot has to power up with a remote energy transfer module to restore gravity to allow your team to push forward. Picture a competing EVE pilot inserting his own Legion squad into the fray. Now you're fighting drones and other Mercs, while trying to support your pilot in space.
That's the kind of gameplay that would be really incredible, unlike anything that's ever been done before in gaming, and would really shake up PvE exploration in EVE. I actually think this is pretty reasonable to achieve too. You're talking about adding triggers in each game that make CREST calls to activate in the two games. The hardest part is designing the map. Yeah, so the EVE pilotGÇÖs job is to protect and support the Legionary squad while they explore the wreck or the abandoned space station.
-Energy transfer to get the lights and gravity on. -Fight off Drone mother ships to keep them from landing Drone packs on the serface. -Fight off bombing runs by pirates that could cause explosions, falling debris, and depressurization in the Legionary environment. -Scanning for loot and hostiles.
Instead of fighting to protect some NPCGÇÖs the EVE pilot would be fighting off threats to protect a team of real players on the ground (or inside a structure).

Looking at the recent Eve Vegas 2014 Keynote with CCP Seagull and CCP Fozzy, Eve Online is shaping up to eventually become far less stale than we all thought. If CCP is intending to create a sandbox where even CCP can't predict anything that might happen*, then I can't imagine how far this will take us in regards to how Legion (and perhaps even Dust) might impact Eve.
* - It is historically known that if CCP is able to predict anything at all, then the players will predict it also and maybe even better than CCP. Thanks for the Link.
Looking at the backdrop for CCP FozzyGÇÖs presentation and seeing that it was a blacked out infantry battle scene -- I could clearly make out an HMG Sentinel and two other suits on the right of the image -- I thought it was very reminiscent to the blackout on Legion information recently.

-Shipwrecks GÇô Fine. -NPC Titans GÇô Probably fine, but may make EVE pilots suspicious. -Player Owned Customs Offices GÇô Fine because it is owned by a Corp rather than a single player. -Outposts in Null Sec GÇô Fine because it is owned by a Corp rather than a single player, But EVE players must retain the ability to take Outposts without the use of Mercs.
-Player owned ships? GÇô No freaking way. You will unleash a torrent of hate that will drown us all.
