I didnt post anything for a while here, but I just bought Destiny and already have the feeling of having wasted my precious money (yes, I am poor as 1st world standards go). I just wanted to give a big wet smooch and heads up to CCPs Dust team, because I just realized what an effin great job they did, in comparison with this over-produced piece of BS. Please guys, dont try "me too" Destiny with Legion and stick with your style! (disclaimer: I play Destiny on a PS3 ...)
1) Optics: Dust looks crisp and tight and makes great use of PS3 graphics. Destiny looks like a bowl of stew (a nicely colored bowl of stew though).
2) Gameplay: Dust has elaborate depth and emergent complexity in its multiplayer focused gameplay. You can play it for years without fully grasping it (as a casual gamer at least). Destiny = Shoot weapon 1, get closer, shoot weapon 2, get closer, melee. Repeat 1 billion times.
3) Story (yes Dust wins on the STORY): Dust takes place in a rich universe you have to figure out by yourself, that is tied in with a great spacegame with a REAL player-made history. Destiny has a rich universe you have to figure out by yourself. There is a Single-Player Campaign with a story, you say? No there isnt. The anti-story is so not there that it swallows the campaign, so that doesnt count.
4) Budget (developer): I dont know what Dust development did cost, but since Bungie claims to have had the highest budget EVAH, I assume it wasnt 500 Mio. I want to travel into a parallel universe, where all that money was spent on Dust/Legion and Eve. I have a dream.
5) Budget (player): Yes, you can sink unlimited money into Dust. But you really dont have to. I paid 40 Gé¼ on Dust, and the second half of this was out of sheer gratitude for the good (and bad) times. I just paid 70 Gé¼ on Destiny and already am sure I wont get my moneys worth. The 10 promised years of expansions will have to be paid additionally. Rip off you say? I absolutely agree!
Who dares to give me more reasons to be pissed at Destiny? Warning, my head might explode.

This is like asking which is a better game, SSX Tricky or Gran Turismo aspec, well both can have some "Zoom Zoom" and multiplayer and wheels, but the similarities end there.
The only thing that annoys me about Destiny (Besides the idiotic "Random" leveling mechanic due to loot) is the failure of a story, which is sinful for a self-alleged MMO-RPG. 500 million dollas out to have a much better story... Hell, the first HALO had a better story... Where's My Story! Psh Psh Psh...
Running around making pew pew IN SPACE ... Dust does it better. Oh lord does it do it better.
Oh btw
6) Pew Pew: Dust weapons feel solid and make PAM PAM or PIAU PIAU or PRRRT. Destiny weapons feel like super soakers making zap zap zap or puff or pui pui pui. I dont have to tell you whats better.

For clarification: I like to compare apples and pears ... and I say Dust is a better pear than Destiny is an apple.

I just wanted to give Destiny the **** it deserves. Lord knows I gave dust the **** it deserves and I thought its fair to even out the *****. 
I still think its valid to compare the two. Show the two Games to your granny. She probably couldnt even see any difference at all. Some structural differences have to be weighed in I agree, but there is no categorical difference I would accept.
To the point of " why are you discussing this?" Jeez, this is a forum. Its for discussing unimportant bullshit for fun and to vent some steam. What else are you here for?
