After acquiring the weekly allotted bonus SP why do you cap the amount of SP one can earn at 1000? The challenge and competition of this game is great but the socialistic/communist SP setup that limits my progression is bullshit. I would like to hear an answer from someone that doesn't make you sound like a pathetic little ***** who can't handle competition. |

I believe there are people who have accumulated around 80 million skill points, with this cap in placeGǪ
Have you considered creating a second PSN account so you can switch to another Character when the first is Capped out?

Also, you can min/max a single role with around 20 to 23 million Skill Points so that even someone with 80 million Skill Points would not be any better than you in that specialized role. Beyond that point more Skill Points just allow you to play more styles. This. At 31 million SP, I have two scouts at full proto. One is Gk.0 with shotty and racial pistol and ewar, the other is Mk.0 with Knives and smg with biotics.
That's a whopping total of: 2 Proto Specialized Suits 5 Proto Modules 4 Proto Weapons Maxed Cores (Misc)
That's not counting the rest of the gear I have. Not only that, but the only time I've used a booster were on the million clone challenges for the extra million.
Without the cap, there are various players who would advanced even further because they play (and perform) much more than your average Joe.

It was a daily cap for a while. Talk about silly. It makes the current weekly grind look awesome by comparison.
BTW OP many a moon ago CCP stated that they would like to change the cap to be a weekly cap that rolled over should you not reach it. This is what the player base stated was the preferred state for the cap as well since removing the cap would lead to some people maxing out all the skills shockingly quickly. This roll-over cap dream will probably not happen at this point though.
Now with more evil.

A friend of mine also suggested for me to create another character but doing something like that will not appease a person like me. My goal is to try to make one profile character superior among others and if I create a new profile the time I spend on the new character is time taken away from the old character. Like Ron Swanson says, "Don't half-ass two things, whole-ass one thing." I have been playing for right over 5 months and I have acquired just under 14 million SP. If there are people whose SP total is hitting up in the 80 million range I do not see how it is reasonably possible for newer players to catch up to that level when the game is limiting that persons ability to do so. In fact, the 1000 SP cap they placed on the game actually screws over my teammates because a lot of times once I hit that 1000 SP cap I simply run off and hide so I don't have to risk the chance of dying. |

I'd like to see the weekly SP cap either raised or eliminated, I feel it is in many cases just an arbitrary barrier preventing excited newbros from reaching a competitive level of SP. In lieu of that, some other method of providing additional SP gain to newer players who are behind the SP curve.

Anyone with 20 million SP is not a newbie therefore at that point there is no blurred line between newbies and vets; there is simply a blurred line between new vets and old vets. And with how well I perform in the matches compared to my teammates I am already pretty damn good at this game. |

If you remove the Cap permanently for hard core players they will eventually have every skill in the game.

I have over 65 million SP right now and I was stranded without internet for months and before that happened there were players I knew personally who had nearly 30 million more SP than I did (and that gap was rising, not falling).
You can run an alt (up to three on a single PSN ID) for more active SP. Or run matches to bank extra ISK and/or LP (I do this not infrequently) but the key point is that Fox mentions last about maxing a single role, I honestly clock it more at 32 million but then again I intentionally tried to account for every skill that might apply in the widest sense and quite frankly most fits/play styles won't need or use as much as I was accounting for.
Past the initial 32 million everything else is just unlocking new styles, but because the skills apply generally in many cases (I'm looking at you dropsuit upgrades tab) you will not require another 32 for a new role, only the SP for a new suit, and if you want it a new weapon as well so that goes pretty quickly.
I heard the idea of adding a separate active cap to FW recently, which I rather liked but some people seem opposed to, or the notion of rollover cap mentioned in beta which hasn't seen active play. No idea either it can be done mechanically with current development to be honest, simply saying a shift to allowing more active SP in some metric isn't one I'm entirely opposed to by any means.

Technically a possibility anyways if we keep adding SP but rarely adding new skills. But in reality, the difference between someone with 50 mil SP and every skill in the game is negligibly different on the battlefield.
Some sort of scaling system that grants a bigger cap or better SP gain for players under like 30 mil SP would appeal to me though.

I understand that I am close to hitting that high SP mark generally associated with veterans but it doesn't change the problem. Just because the SP cap will no longer effect me as much doesn't mean I should I abandon this issue. There are a lot of other people out there who are having to deal with this SP limitation who will not be hitting the high SP mark anytime soon. |

Acquiring every skill in the game is what I call success and I see no problem with that. |
