hello i just played a match and id say about half of my shot with a bolt pistol that landed on a target did nothing. i get the red x on my reticule but the red berry takes no damage. im REALLY REALLY FUKIN PISSED OFF right know but i'm try to be nice but if the source code for this game was in front of me right now id hit ctrl+a then del and then punch a bunny this is **** shit **** really **** off language filter i hate you too. so i have a ok internet connection so i dont think thats the problem but i'm starting to feel ripped off here i actually ran up to a dude hacking a turret at one point lined up for the head shot pulled the trigger saw the red x his shield flashed ..... no ******* damage he turns around and stabs me one time with nova knives so i smashed my controler on the wall good thing i have an extra ill be mailing the one i smashed to CCP :) consider it hate mail PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT HIT DETECTION!!!

im glad you like my post dont forget to hit the thumbs up but i do think there is an issue it may be due to the fact that i have a bad upstream speed anywhere from 500 kbps to 1 Mbps. My down speed seems to be good 5Mbps to 15Mbps but there seems to be an issue with my isp performing traffic shaping. i wonder is there is an issue here or maybe CCP has some funky net code i know that BF4 just had a major patch to fix a lot of its netcode issues but we never seem to talk about it in dust. maybe we should be asking CCP some questions?  |

This has always been the problem killing Dust, and I'm pretty sure it's a network effect that's causing it.
And much as I agree with you, that is desperately needs to be fixed, I think if CCP wanted to save Dust they would have investigated it by now. It's a core fault preventing player adoption or retention, but they have concentrated on "bling" rather than substance. Icing the cake with new weapons and modules is irrelevant if the cake stinks like a 4-week-old trout - it's still not going to catch your appetite...
For what it's worth, this is why I haven't played for many months, but I recently thought "what the hell - let's try"...
A quarter of a match later I switched the console off in disgust, as I consistently out-manoeuvred my enemies only to find point-blanking them in the back had almost no effect - they just turned, acquired me, and shot me down before their shields were half gone. Same as always.
This problem tends to follow certain enemy players around, and (for me) the main problem appears (based upon languages used) to be linked to payers from 2 countries in particular, and affects them pretty consistently. I'm not suggesting that all players from those countries are cheating (I doubt that most are even aware - they probably just assume they're great players), I *am* suggesting that there is some issue which gives them an insurmountable edge, and messes with the game of anyone targeting them, reducing them to stutter-vision. hence the conclusion that it's a network issue.
I've done network analysis and posted results enough times in the past to know CCP aren't going to address this, but I did want to say "no - you're not imagining this".
And no, I'm not going to name the countries. That's not the issue here.
It's easy to get a feel for this - look at YouTube videos of Dust, and if (like me) you wonder in frustration "how are they getting so much damage on target!?!?" then there you have it - it's because their game experience is very different to yours.
Let's hope CCP try to get it right for Legion.

Yeah I killed a scout the other day with a Bolt Pistol and I wasn't aiming anywhere near where the scout was.
