I think maybe my DS3 is starting to show its age now, but when I am flying a dropship, for some reason the menu for calling in vehicles keeps popping up while I am flying.

Safe to say it has got me killed a good few times now and I cant figure out why it comes up. As far as I am aware my controller is ok. Does anyone else get this while in an ADS or is it just my controller being funny?

Sounds like you got a gunked up D-Pad... I certainly haven't had this issue, just take the 5 screws out the back of the controller, be careful of the shoulder button springs when pulling the back off... There's another screw under the battery, once you've got that out just unclip vibration motors and the main board should come right off... Then you're free to clean all the little bits separately.

 - I take no responsibility for you buggering your controller while doing this, but I do it every couple of months anyway... BE CAREFUL OF THE SPRINGS!

Ok thanks very much man. I will have to pop it open and give it a clean.

If I bust the controller I am screwed for flying though, I have tried to fly with mouse and keyboard but its just horrendous to use! I've learnt to use the playstation controller only because I need it to fly dropships.

If you do break the springs you can buy new ones off ebay for 99p... So it's not the be all and end all, nothing much else in there that wouldn't require a bit of effort to break.

(Conspiracy time - its CCP / Soraya's next stage of ADS nerfs ) I sometimes get that the first time I sprint during a match, but it usually only happens once, max twice, then it's fine.

 It's not likely a gunked up d-pad.

It's much more likely the (not really attached, wtf Sony) ribbon cable is no longer making proper consistent contact with the board. I've had this happen before.

To fix this, unscrew the back, take out the battery so you don't accidentally turn the controller on, unscrew the board, and look for a piece of black padding that usually keeps the ribbon cable in place against the board.

Lift up this piece of padding, throw a little bit of rolled up electrical tape under it for more pressure on the cable, and put the whole thing back together.

ive got this sometimes when i try to sprint. Though its a very rare occasion and i think its more about that the game is over sensitive.

Had this issue a long time ago, menu would constantly pop up for no reason and get me killed. CCP's suggestion at the time was to get a new controller, so I did... >.> Dust was the only game that experienced that issue, so I think it's more so with the game than anything else. Even other games I'd play at the time that used the D-pad never had any issues. Good luck getting it fixed!

Tab key is my suicide button. Right next to the change weapon key on the keyboard, is the button that brings up the scoreboard, and takes you out of the game for like ten seconds, when you're frantically trying to switch to your sidearm.
