So cloakers pulling out their weapons, colliding with another player disrupts the cloak but being hit with projectiles doesnt? this needs fixing. you also need to make the cloaking/uncloaking sound louder and add a 15/30/40 sec cool-down. all the hit and run cloaking needs to go away. |

It doesn't need that much. Despite the initial hatred and seemingly real invisibility, the recent detection tweaks and people learning how to look for cloakies make cloaks now pretty okay.
The shield hit flare would really be a good thing to implement: - Would enable the first person noticing AND hitting cloakie point out the thread to friends - Everyone has some shields unless in recovery, flare would affect all - Those in recovery escaping would not be 'flared' which would be interesting - Would make a interesting fitting decision for cloakies, to have less shields to be slightly less 'flarable' - A slight impact on shield tanking usability in case of cloakies - (Finally a not-so-strong reason, lore logic: If shields flare up with high energy when hit, it makes sense that the cloak itself can't masquerade the energy burst)
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

I have never had my cloak disrupted from running into anyone. Nothing is broken. Working as intended. Carry on folks nothing to see here. (ok maybe a flux grenade should shut it down. )
Maybe the OP should invest into some Precision enhancers & scanners. Everyone should stop bitchzing and whining like they need a fukin tampon cuz they got sand in their cl!t. |

For me the cloak is a minor nuisance, it's mainly the super-damped scouties using it that is the threat, the super damps not showing up on the tac-net.
Fit the basic Cloak on a proto assault and you won't find it helping you much.
It's the damps, all the damps, the cloak is just icing on the cake for very specific situations or for people with crappy/small monitors.

I wonGÇÖt repeat my opinion about cloaks being in these games, but I WOULD like to repeat my request NOT to change anything having to do with the mechanics and renders of the cloak.
The cloak equipment appears to work adequately,... meaning it gives cloakboys a toy they can feed their mayhem addiction with, and do it in a way that is very brief (though I agree they are annoying), and does not effectively alter the winning/losing of the match. Only the REAL Scout players have the understanding how to use a cloak to help win a match---and the Scouts seldom use their cloaks to just bop around harassing every loose player they can find. The way Scouts use their cloaks has earned my respect.
So I think itGÇÖs only the impish cloakboys that are the cause of your frustration.
I believe a cloak DOES shimmer when bumping into another player (not the same as GÇ£disruptedGÇ¥---CCP uses GÇÿdisrutpedGÇÖ to mean the cloak shuts off completely). It does shimmer when running,... and it MAY shimmer in a projectile blast (nades, mass-driver, etc)---but with all the blast animation, we may not be able to notice it.
IGÇÖve made a surprising number of kills on players who were cloaked at the time---close-up kills, and kills at a distanceGÇöand IGÇÖm not the most observant player on the map. So catching sight of a cloaked player IS something you can master WITHOUT the devs needing to be mess around with the behavior of the cloak.
I am too SCARED to think what will happen if the cloak mechanic is messed around with.
