I stopped taking you seriously after you said this. Sorry, but I don't agree with you at all that K/D is the single most important stat in this game. I'm notoriously known for throwing myself into the line of fire on purpose to take down a few redberry bastards with just my knives even if it means I die with them. I killed a lot of bastards this way and a lot of people respect me for that alone. No one gave a rat's ass about my horribad KDR.

Ok, right here I can tell you're just trolling. That would definitely send me back to the Academy because I don't care about my KDR. I stopped caring about it 2 years ago.

Yes, killing is important in Dust. But remember that we are immortal mercenaries. We don't care about dying. At least I don't. I will often spawn, run in with knives or maybe an SMG, and die while taking someone with me. Rinse. Repeat until you have distracted the enemy long enough for your team to overtake them. This strategy will inevitably result in me dying A LOT but in the end, capturing that objective brings home the bacon.

I do know best, just because you wear a D-UNI tag, doesn't mean you know whats best for the game or the playerbase. You are surrounded by new players who have no concept of skill nor balance and are taking their opinions to the forums, where they will be ever so popular due to the fact that the thought process of the regulars here (Excluding me and a select few players) is equal to that of a new player.
I never said I know best nor will I ever claim such a thing. If you know best, prove it. Back it up with hard evidence.
PS: I don't stoop as low as bring my corp into this discussion. Keep D-Uni out of it, OK?

Let me reiterate what I just said. I don't care about my own KDR. PERIOD. It is horrid by many people's standards, but in the end, no one looks at my KDR and judges me on that because they know I don't care about it.
PS: By your logic, I should forever be imprisoned in the Academy.

This would be true... if I were in a PC match. But since my corp is no longer involved in PC, I don't have to worry much about that. Besides, right now with the sidearm expert challenge going on I'm not caring about clone loss. As long as I can get another kill with my militia nova knives before I die again (breaking even basically), I'm good.

And here is why CCPs matchmakeing in pubs can't fix the problem^^^^^^ all ways someone on your team who just does not care if he hurts his team.
You can say the same thing for people who leave a match midway through just because the opposing team is generating some resistance.

Yes, I can see how disagreeing with your idea means I suck ass despite being able to kill off Sentinels and Commandos using only Militia Nova Knives and no other weapon. Just remember that some of the people here who claim to have good KDRs don't agree with your idea either. Does that mean, they suck as well?*

Majority - Key Word, learn to read.
Irrelevant. Logistics players are critical to the success of the team just as much as the regular slayer and they usually don't have good KDRs because they are focused on doing their job which requires providing support to their team. As a result, they are often the first ones to be targeted by the opposing team because we know how much of a force multiplier logis are and thus it's no surprise their KDR suffers. It's bad enough they have to suffer this and now you want to punish them for not killing enough players? **** you.
If the team won because that one logi provided all the needed reps, ammo, uplinks, and revives so that the rest of the team can stay ahead of the opposition, no one will care about the logi's KDR as long as he's a great logi.
If the team won because a couple of Minmatar scouts were running around hacking every objective and installation on the map keeping the enemy on their toes, no one will care about their KDRs as long as they are great hackers.
Also, just because you killed more players it doesn't mean you won. I have seen a handful of matches where one team was close to losing all of its clones (the enemy had a lot of clones remaining) yet they were able to defeat the enemy by destroying their MCC before they ran out of clones.
In Eve Online, battles in space are waged constantly. A fleet of 100 ships can be destroyed by a fleet of 50 ships but still win despite the loss. How? Suppose the fleet of 100 consists of ships with an average cost of around 4 million ISK each totaling 400 million ISK lost. These would be small ships like destroyers, frigates, and maybe even a cruiser or two. Now suppose the fleet of 50 consists of ships with an average cost of around 100 million ISK each. These would be larger ships like battleships and battlecruisers.
If the fleet of 100 were to lose all their ships, they lose only 400 million ISK worth of ships.
If the fleet of 50 were to lose even just 1/5 of their ships, they already lost 1 billion ISK worth of ships. The fleet of 100 may have been obliterated, but the remaining fleet of 40 is humiliated while the other side can easily rebound from the loss and immediately start another attack against the fleet of 40 until that 40 goes down to 30 if they can. As a result, the value of the loss becomes more important than the quantity of the loss.
From a Dust perspective, it's no different. A squad of skilled players running militia or standard gear can easily die to a similarly-skilled squad of proto suits, but the proto squad will suffer a heavier loss due to losing some of their proto gear. There are players out there that already go negative on the wallet just for losing one proto suit vs players who can lose 20 militia/standard suits and still go positive on the wallet for a single match. Again, quality of the kill, trumps quantity.
EDIT: Messed up on the math there. Fixed it.

LOOKMOM NOHANDS wrote:Pushing Charlie wrote:Our K/D is the single most important stat in this game, so CCP should prioritize rewarding high K/D players. A player that tops the board with a negative K/D is still a bad player, and should not receive more rewards than someone who goes positive. This is why the following should be added:
Daily SP should be changed to 1,000*(Your current K/D); Players with a higher K/D no matter their position on the board should receive more SP and ISK than those who go negative; Getting out of the Academy should require a 2.0 K/D as opposed to a WP requirement; The current events should be based on overall K/D as opposed to overall kills;
I do believe that these changes would have a positive effect on player count and skill, furthermore I will bring these suggestions to the eyes of the CPM and ultimately, CCP. HAHAHAHAHAHA ARE YOU SERIOUS??? K/D is the most useless stat in this game. A team of 2 logis can die 5 times total and save 50 clones while causing the other team to lose the same number. Should they be pissed on because they chose to support the team and in the stats went negative K/D? The current system works 1000x better than what you are proposing. Stop being butt hurt because you make no money running around solo in a scout and can not make any money off going 5/0.
Sadly, he is serious. He also thinks he knows best and claims to have this wisdom of the sages that make him become a master of how the battlefield works.
TL;DR
He's delusional and jealous that a Logi can score more rewards than his gun game can bring him.
