I honestly don't like it I feel like it's moving closer and closer to battlefield. I mean sidearm as primaries? It's meant as a last resort not a primary. And it's far to easy for av to kill vehicles with vehicles are just about right. All weapons are balanced and good at range or close up. Where's the balance

Well you had to expect sidearms to be used as primaries for this event. Sh!t will settle down when it is over.
All weapons are balanced? Then it is working as intended. AV is only easy if the pilot is R3tarded and sits still or backs up into something. Experience counts alot for piloting.
Sometimes it makes more sense to use your sidearm first to wear down shields that have bonuses to certain weaponry and then finish them with the primary. Honestly, the weapons & vehicles in dust feel very balanced right now. If only match making could be tuned a little better. |

So everyone should feel sorry for ADS & DS because they can't just hover above infantry and mow them down? Or should we feel bad because CCP finally fixed the skill stacking that allowed gunners to fire faster than intended? Dropships still have the ability to fly to the ceiling or redline, infantry doesn't. It is about time that Swarm launchers are not just laughed at and shrugged off. |

Some of us have used sidearms as a primary since Beta. I am of the belief that a weapon in a game should be able to be used as a weapon.

Yeah, in the real world nobody would be able to respawn and whine about nerfing a sniper rifle after I one shot them at 1,000m. Also, I wouldn't even need to be that good as it wouldn't need to be a head shot to get a kill.
Come on God, nerf sniper rifles now!
P.S. Did you know that after about 600m (I think, trying to remember might be 800m) that you wouldn't even know you are being shot at save for something causing the leaves to rustle?

Sidearms should never be allowed to be less powerful than another type of weapon, unless it's design is like that. Take a flintlocks, for example. They both kill people, but the pistol is more for a compact CQC and rifle is more for range. It's, also, easier to reload the pistol than the rifle.
Each weapon should have their niche. Having sidearms as ONLY finishers is like saying you have to use the Plasma to strip shields to then use knives to kill someone. C'mon, OP... |

Nothing wrong with using a sidearm as a primary. People use what they feel suits them best and thats how it should be. You feel better using it as a sidearm which is fine but some other people prefer to use it as a main weapon. Me it depends on my fit and whats going on in battle. And like others have said its event time so there will be a ton of people running and gunning with sidearms as their main. |

So like call of duty Nah if it was like call of duty then you could 1 shot kill everyone with any weapon and there wouldnt be a skill tree so ellaborate like we have on dust. So unless CCP nerfs all the suits so thatthey have the same shields and armor and buff all the weapons so that they one shot kill i highly doubt it will ever be like that game :P |

But you cant compair a video game to real life. Its just not duable. I really honestly dont understand why people actually insist on compairing the real world to video games. I mean isnt the idea of a video game to be able to do stuff that you CANT do in the real world? That includes killing people with a side arm over an assault rifle. |

Sometimes only engaging them enough to push them away from the objective is a victory in itself. Allows your team to gain some momentum or control.
Now you just sound like a troll whining about swarms. LOL who does that? |

But its not an RPG.
If a helo gets hit by an RPG it doesn't fly away to rep itself back to safety then re-engage. A direct hit usually downs a helo for good.

And you are correct the ADS shouldnt be a vehicle that can constantly engage hostiles indefinately. It indeed should be meant as nothing more than a deterent. I have used and ADS on numerous occassions to deter tanks from moving out of the redline and it has worked great. Even if i only made 75 points the entire match it was well worth it to see my team win because they didnt have an angry tanker pinning them down. |

How hard is it for you to realise ADS were OP! Im a pilot and im saying that! The only way I've seen ADS slaying since is when they're in numbers, as they have a numerical advantage. 1 on 1 I dont laugh at swarms anymore. Im flying smart. Im thinking where to fly if I have to retreat. Im assessing the threat of other AV. Im trying to remove all threats quickly and swiftly. How hard is that to do? Hovering over somebody going *blap* youre dead, is not fun for anyone except the pilot. And thats as bad as 1.7 Tanks.
If you cant adapt to flying with a threat, dont fly. Simple as that. Whining and complaining on the forums wont do you any favours, or change anything.
And swarms are not OP. Ive been downed by them a couple of times (Multiple Wiyrkomis hurt), but most times, ive already planned my escape and survive.
Fly smart, or dont fly at all.

Boyo one shot from RPG 75 to clown car and its done on 1000 metres one shot from RPG 7 VR propeled nade or anti bunker 7VT and tank is just gone even with proceramic or reactive armor on cca 800m (Trust me 102. recon batalion - AA/support)

Thats a matee, hell see even pilot tellin' how it was unbalanced and he even confirm what i wrote before. Fly smart and cover flyin' thingie behind objects. Hell its still dropship

You realize that most long range weapons such as heavy machine guns are used for long range and cqc. Such as clearing rooms with m4s instead of 9m. Using the rifles always let me repeat always are better than pistols unless you are 15 m away. Pistols are not the go to weapon in the real world if anything its assault rifles
