You rarely score, people rarely promote you as the best of your squad and your equipment cost more than any other person's gear. There are those games that you're rarely needed and don't have opportunities to do anythin substantial for the team.
Though without them the team just wouldn't be the team and for all the recognition they lack they are important.
So here's to all the AV players who keep the games going and rarely get more than a surprised shrug for their efforts.

Well I consider it a specialization if you chose what you used your SP on based on how it would help you perform your role better. Someone who plays as a sniper will not have the same modules, grenades equipment as someone who plays assault or scout. This is because they have to perform in different ways than other players. This is specialization.
This is what players who chose to place their SP into AV did. They maximized there ability to fight vehicles while neglecting their formability against infantry, or they had to grind their favorite sidearm to the peak of specialization.
Dedicated AV exists and I used to be one of them.

If you have ever used a maximized Swarm Launcher build with full complex mods, proto sidearm, proto grenades. That SOB cost a crap ton and yet is EXTREMELY vulnerable to the lowliest of militia builds.

Although, there HAVE been scores from goal to goal before. Mexican legend Jorge Campos was known to lead counter attacks from one goal to the other.

Dedicated AV exists and I used to be one of them. The skills you need to AV (except the weapon) are the same you can use against infantry, AV are weapons not a specialization, if you want to pass your time AVing is your problem. If the other team don't use vehicles, you just have to change weapon, AV is a role, not a spec (just like sniper). It's like someone who want to play as a sniper and complain because people stay out of his range, move on. That post went straight over your head. Oddly enough I hoped that using redundant language would get my point across.

Nothing Certain wrote:Thanks OP. Yes, you don't need AV unless you do. Playing AV right means acting against vehicles, not reacting after they **** your team. Role or specialization, I don't care what you call it. Exactly it's the class everyone thinks is dumb and useless to spawn with, but the second a vehicle shows up everybody is glad that someone was already packing the big guns. Then when the vehicle goes away you get the cold shoulder again.
A thankless job.
