It seems 90% of this game's population couldn't care less about the event and would rather use this opportunity to stomp all the MLT using participants via shotguns, hmgs, rrs, and crs.

Only about 10% of players are proficient enough in a Sidearm to consider themselves to be the best at it, so it would make sense that only 10% of players are actively participating in the DDM Challenge.
As for stomping the participants using MLT weapons, it's called challenge for a reason right?

Militia variants only count if you care about naming the weapon. You get SP no matter what type of sidearm you use.

So just cuz you want to participate means everyone has too? I don't get on often but when I do get on I won't be using my Magsec. Sorry I don't feel like wasting my time with something that doesn't matter to me.

But 100% of those who at the very least used side arms for kills would get an SP bonus.

Same here.
I have been a bit poor lately with not quite a full mill in the bank so i have switch from my adv caldari to my eon bp suit with a heavy machine gun. Very cheap suit.
I had a pretty lousy match the other day but since the other team was running nearly all proto gear i ended up with over 200k isk and i was in 5th place on killboard. |

I accidentally purchased the militia nova knife blue print. It was mixture of sleep deprivation and button lag. I was like **** it, CCP can have the aurum, I'll use the stupid thing. I feel like a clone molester that sneaks up on people and tickles their batties. They are never consenting and typically turn around and punch my face into my pelvis with bullets. |

i'm going to be trying out this event only like 1 or 2 days out of the 20 and those days that i am not playing the event you can sure as hell expect me to be wielding the weapons i usually have. Even people who are playing the event are not going to be doing it everyday.

Actually, I've killed a few proto fits as well. I can do it with a BPO only fit, but I choose not to, for now. |

Bolt pistol isn't broke it just shows how broken aa/bullet magnetism is, turn off aa and go shoot someone with your OP weapon. Good luck with that. |
