It's not every match, but at least half have most of one team staying well clear of the objectives to play it safe. This should not be rewarded as it makes the game hellishly boring.
What do you get for winning or trying to win? 1 more up on your win/loss ratio... Woohooo!
The game rewards going isk positive, which is much easier from the redzone or to a lesser extent hovering around the outside of the map, picking off easy targets or making the enemy come to you out of boredom from defending a point from a lone scout who doesn't want to just sit back and do nothing like the rest of their team.
We need to reward players who try, lets get some ideas together to solve this. |

When I run solo I try to stay to the outskirts of the fight and avoid getting myself killed being a heroGǪ but I canGÇÖtGǪ resistGǪ the urgeGǪ someone must Hack!
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

Yes.
We need more wp for hacking and being near a hacked point.
Maybe we could have 25 wp for an actual hack on top of a counter hack?. also everyone within a 20 metres radius of the objective could get +50 for putting in the effort when a point goes blue or is hacked back?.
Regular hack from yellow to blue - same wp we get now but all those in the 20 metre radius get +25 for being there.
Counter hack - +25 for the initial hack, +10 for those nearby, regular wp for when the counter hack is complete and +50 for those nearby.
Installation hacks - same as we get now but +25 wp for those nearby.
Anyone who fires even oone shot at an enemy or vehicle and it dies should get the assist +25 wps i think as well. The kill should be determined by who did the most damage as well i believe, not the last shot.

A good example is when im on my alt and get a kill on a tank when using my laser rifle but it was another merc who did 99.99999999999% of the work and is actually wielding av lol.

I know what you mean man. I enjoy flanking but at some point in the match im thinking 'why are all the blueberry nowhere near the point'.
I sometimes like to attack objectives in a pincer movement and attack from multiple direction.. Unfortunately, the blues never conduct an attack, so i can't help them.
Also, everytime i try to push....like halfway the blues suddenly branch off to do god knows what when its clear that we should be taking the point. PTFO- Play the F'ing Objective
I vouch that we increase the WP cost of objective taking and counter hacking. Perhaps introduce 'point holding' WP. You get accumulated WP for every minute your team is holding the objective.
Therefore you get more isk the longer you hold the objective....the only way we can convince people is to give them more WP/ISK or SP... maybe you get more SP from WP collected from the objective.

Perhaps, in Skirmish if the map is 3- or 4- or 5-capped (given the total # of null cannons on the respective map) grant 75 points for turning back the first objective, 65 for the second, etc., plus squad order bonus % if in place... Once you tip the scales back to even or turn the tables on reds it goes back to standard 50 points... If you back-hack the last point preventing the for example 4-cap, maybe 100 instead of the 80 that is typical...
Folks also like to provide disincentives to redliners but imo it isn't quite right or fair to prevent them from firing/killing from out of the redline or stopping any any WP earnings from the redline, especially for the team getting stomped... Perhaps deduct 25 points per minute of dwelling in the redline making it a kind of 2 steps forward one step back scenario if they don't move their can out... I can imagine redline snipers running between their redline, head-glitching perch and the edge of the redline to reset the timer to avoid the deductions compounding their lack of contribution to meaningful goals as they scamper to and fro...
Be just and if you can't be just be arbitrary.

Better isk rewards and sp rewards. Reward fun, tactics, and effort.
Remove passive sp from X time in a match and reward strictly on wp.
Fix the isk formula to reward wp, the winning team, effort, and overall losses. Obviously suicide yourself shouldn't be rewarded but the value that your lost assets brought to the field should be rewarded. For example a 200k logi reviving 3 proto heavies, that 200k suit saved 300-400k.

There's definitely ideas out there for good additional WP bonuses around objectives.
Killing a hacker should really be rewarding for instance. Right now, it's better for you to let them hack it so you can counterhack. (Though there was a day when we didn't even get WP for counterhacks.) I'd love to see a WP bonus for killing someone hacking an objective. This would be an incentive for the defender to hang around and defend their point.
Killing someone around an enemy objective in general might be worth getting WP to encourage capturing a point. Though it would need to require you were in proximity as well. Snipers shouldn't get a bonus for assaulting a point, since they're nowhere near it, and obviously not going to hack it. You also have to prevent it from being farmable. For instance, constantly killing people around an enemy point without hacking it so you can retain the bonus.

If I could just grab the blues by the hand and show them where the objective is!!!!! I just wanna call time out in the battle, walk up to the point, slap the heavy hacking it, drop a hammer fist on the head of the scout NOT hacking it, and ask the heavy why he thinks the scout can ever hope to stop the 2 heavies, logi, and 3 assaults coming to stop the hack?!?!?!
HE CAN'T COVER YOU BRO!!!! He needs you to move out of his way with that slow *ss hack speed, and cover him for F**K SAKE!
