I'm considering trying to win the Officer Nova Knives in the sidearm event, and if I do compete, I'd try to go downtime to downtime, because #nolife. I'd be hoping to get at least 1000 kills by fast deploying Ambush spam all day. That's if I even compete...
So knifers!
Tell me, how many hours straight will you be playing when you compete and how many kills are you hoping to get?
On a side note, does anyone know if we'll get the Officer weapons in Dust or Legion? Because if we don't get them in Dust, I may have to reconsider competing...

You'll get them in Dust, but hopefully they'll also be in Legion.
As for knifing, you've got some tough competition 
I can wait an entire hour in about 10 minutes. Impressive, i know.

You'll definitely get them in Dust. They'd better have all the names ported to Legion. It's easy enough to do and is the least they could do if they really are committed to "preserving the footprints" we left in Dust. but yeah, expect some tough competition and just know that you'd better have min scout to prof V.

Lvl 5 Min Scout, NK Proficiency 3, may go to 4 for the event...

Probably not worth it if your goal is around 1000. That's still quite high, but there are people setting for 1500+
If you go insane while competing though, could you tell me how it is? I've always wondered what it's like to play a single game for 24 hours... Do your eyes go on strike and jump out of their sockets?
Oh, who am I kidding. Anyone who can play this game for that long of a period using a single weapon is already insane. 
Nova Knives are best sidearm.

I've been going back and forth over whether I'm going to make an attempt at the NK win. I definitely won't be able to until this weekend, so I'll likely be trying out a few potential fittings and deciding on a game mode until then. If I feel like I've got something I can make a decent attempt with, I'll likely plan a couple days that I can put in the required time.
I don't really see where the 1200+ estimates are coming from. If we were talking Proto NKs, then I would say 2K, easily. With those Militia NKs? I don't see the winning kill count going too far over 1K. |

Although I'm neither good enough nor have enough free time to have a reasonable chance of winning, I'm going to use a dual scrambler pistols fit for this event.
I also suspect I'll be teaming up with some of our better slayers to help them top the leaderboards. |

Unless you have an Mk.0 and CPX damage mods with proficiency 5, don't even bother.
The knives are more trouble than they're worth. |

Ambush is crap for knifing, in my opinion.
You have one blob of reds, so maybe you get a kill off before you die. Then you get spawned with a blob of blue, and it is practically impossible to flank because you can't chose a better spawn point.

I have both.
While I know I wouldn't win, I think it would give me an idea of where I fall among knifers. That would be my biggest reason.

Don't eat for 24 hours prior to event. Relieve yourself immediately before event. Only drink Purified water during even to cut down on pee time. Only eat food during last 12 hours of event.
