the Defender suits are given to the newbies they're actually just Basic suits, the Defender series would be the equivilant of a mauler sentinel except its an hmg build, and they are the new players first taste at playing a heavy frame they get 5, if you saw someone using one of these, either they were fresh out of the battle academy, or they had some aur to waste
the 'Remnant IX' Logistics MK.0 has been a proto type aurum prefit dropsuit for quiite a while
if you dont believe me about the defender series, create a new toon, and look in its dropsuit fittings, you will see 5 Defender MKII-(A,C,G,M) and 5 assault suits with the MKII label
