Who else thinks nerffing stinks? Snipers should be able to shoot anyone in there views. Knifers stab people heavies should take more because of how they are armored. Knifers should be fast and stealthy. Frontline should be a bit of all areas just not as good but can hold there own against all for a while. Or rant over. |

Nerfing has lead to so much wasted SP over the years. its sad that you have to take all guns to proto because one of them will be useless one month and one will be OP. if balance of suits and gun clearly will never happen just leave things as they are so you can put SP in something and know what your getting. i all ways had a theory that CCP just makes everything out of wack every month to get you to buy AUR to use whats OP that month. i never seen a FPS game struggle so hard to balance things for years on end its got to be a scam no ones this stupid.

I thought it was CCP being clever. People spend more money and time on the game if the weapons keep being nerfed or buffed. If everything stayed the same, it would get boring.
I say keep the changes coming, but never nerf the sniper rifle again! |

Further, let's say you refuse to nerf it, because you only ever want to buff things (because n3rfing iz baad). So instead you buff literally every other weapon to bring them into balance with the op gun. Now you've just reduced the TTK in the game which leads to radically different gameplay. To compensate, you buff armor and shield modules, but now you've just made the disparity between cheap suits with few slots and pro suits with more slots even wider. This results in new players having a harder time surviving and cuts into new player retention.
...or you could have just dialed back the OP weapon a bit.

The range reduction was really harsh. 500m would have been enough. Now some of my favourite spots are useless, yet I can still redline snipe in other maps. |

Just saying the 350-450 range suits this game fine considering that is slightly larger than the area of the general game play. Fights generally don't spread out larger than that because of every other weapon range, time to kill, objective locations, desired game design, player intention of gameplay, technical limits of the engines to which would include not only the well complained about rendering issues BUT number of players as well.
For example, a game that could have a very very very large arena but doesn't would be planetside 2. The engine, the weapons, player intention the time to kill would support a massive play field. Why are they a 150 meter infantry game?
Objective locations are about 20 meters and you cannot shove the entire army in a space that small.
Either way the nerfs and buffs are a way to ensure that any kind of customers could spend money have he can then believe the items he bought are relatively just as useful as the items someone else bought.
A car with power windows vs a car with convertible top. Same car model different experience but similar performances still is the goal we are trying to achieve.
We are not trying to make a sports car that is just as expensive as your hoop de ville and forcing sedan players to buy the sporters because the hoop de ville car is so insufficient.

Lol to all of you guys talking about ccp devious plans to get your aurum... The ignorance is outrageous. I assume you are some 12 year old kids listen you don't have to play fit of the month you sheep. Now if any of you have played a mmo before you would know how fail devs really are and they are really often left to listening to the players and very often they listen to the wrong ones. A lot of players just want to be op cause can't cut it otherwise people like this on the forums really hurt the game and if these devs do play I am sure there are constantly people whispering in there ears.
Projectile weapons really need nerfed.
It didn't taste like abortion.?.?.

I just miss some of the spots I used to get a good number of kills from. When I sit on the enemy redline, I can't get the guys sat near my redline now! In fairness, the changes to the recticle and range have made me whip out my logi suit a bit more often, but ultimately I'm playing a lot less than I was a month ago partly due to the changes - I can't see whether I'm on target as easily with the new recticle, and find that I need to move around more, which isn't so easy when you only have one fully functioning arm! |

I need 600m to be able to kill him Ok, I'm not a sniper, but isn't the idea that you don't need to kill an enemy sniper who is deep in their redline, as they aren't really a threat to the battlefield due to their short range?
Also, for people accusing me, I have only recently started to get into assault rifle use. I still use knives more than rifles. Over the course of my time on dust I have used rifles very little. |

I was killed twice by the same sniper yesterday on a domination map.
The first kill was 380 meters away, I think snipers still have plenty of range my dear friends.
