 Periodic Gear Buyback
 * Liquidates eligible inventory at current market values.
 * Excludes rare, promotional, aur and not-for-sale gear.

 Positives:
 * Emulates player market.
 * Grants value to valueless salvage.
 * Cleans up player inventories.
 * Frees space on Tranquility.
 * Makes newbros smile (I remember my first big paycheck (Uprising 1.0)).
 * Generates interesting demand metrics for Rattati.

 Negatives:
 * Requires coding from CCP (but only for 1st round; future rounds are a trigger pull).
 * Requires a merc to repurchase his loadouts, though I doubt he'll mind.

 I know I've got a lot of extra dropsuits that i can't use from salvage, would be nice to get those cleared out of the screen when making new fittings, tons of weapons I dont use, and tons of modules I may have used once or twice or not at all.

 I say this is something we need.

 Not a bad idea. I think introducing a pseudo player market should probably be the absolute first step taken should Dust ever get an actual content patch. No other addition could do so much with so little.

 PErhaps the ability to also gift items to other players much like ISK as well.

 For example- Jace helped me out a lot in a match so I toss him a couple Thales.

 As a side benefit players can actually arrange "deals" and say- I can privately sell my thales for ISK if I wanted.

 So not a market, but a barter/trade system.

 Kind of an addition, but hopefully not a complex one.

 This game should never have rolled out without the ability to trade items for ISK or other items.

 I've got so much crap I'll never use on all four of my characters' inventories. Gastun's, for example, on Jace are as useful as **** on a bull. Thale's on Strumpet are even more useless.

 But I just love scrolling through my inventory trying to switch weapons when I run across 12 different AUR Duvolle ARs with the exact same stats but different names because they came from different AUR packs or different sales.

 Thoughts?
 Thoughts? Hummm.... This is a thing I will continue pushing for? This is a thing I believe Rattati likes the idea of? This (tho maybe not this specific thing but something like it) is a thing that is - I believe - being looked into for a tech evaluation.

 I would just like to sell unused things singularly, but if it's easier to to get rid of useless items in the other way, i would agree.

 Sort fitting menu with sub categories would also help, but that's another topic.

 At market value? I'm not so sure about that. Should be a consequence for purchasing the asset. Would recommend something like 80-90% market value.

 Im pretty sure that would require a client-update......so
 sorry to bust bubbles but won't happen

 Although, I agree, would be nice to clean up by merc quarters. Costing me tons of ISK from storage cost fees. I think the only reason it's not breaking the bank is that i know my stations manager and she likes me....so behind closed door deals to stay here.

 If you play Eve it would be like being stuck in the same station and not being able to sell/trade anything ever. But being broke looking at millions and millions of ISK in your assets.

 I don't understand how this hasn't happened every quarter while waiting on a market.

 Hmm...a very acceptable "2nd Best" choice. I know we all REALLY want a market, but this (tech-wise) sounds very feasible. The downsides are hardly downsides too. I like it.

 this would breath life into this game for me.

 I would rather have an option to "gift" gear to fellow mercs in exchange for some isk under the table.

 btw i have 40+ of every officer weapon (excluding the recent additions) and i would sell each for 1.5m

 ******* PERFECT!

 They don't even need to implement a market, just give us the ability to GIVE items to someone the same way we can GIVE ISK.

 Right click item, select "GIVE", search through contacts (same window used for inviting to a chat channel, the art is already in the game), pick a person, set quantity (same field and controls as for setting amount of ISK to give, only in intervals of 1 instead of intervals of 50k), click Send, done.

 Couldn't be simpler.

 And if some people get scammed, they go on the forum and post about it and everybody who's paying attention knows not to trust that guy. No problems.

 DO IT, CCP.
