It just feels good to take down an expensive suit in your little cheapy suit. I try to keep my fittings under 20,000 (my main is at 10,500) and only use my 26 k suit when I'm in a squad or i feel like being a try-hard (lol, I'm the only try hard without proto).
I understand that, but he says that's all he runs.
Seems weird to play a game with such a long progression only to limit yourself to basically starter gear.

Why use anything beyond standard when 90% of the Dust Playerbase uses MLT? Hell, the only reason I would use ADV is for the variants, or because I have too many of them. This is my reason, anyways.
I've actually started using my BPOs quite a bit, but I church them up with the best modules I can fit on them. I'm doing it because I have developed poor habits and I'm trying to get gud.
