Well, part of it is that I'm not sure of the adjustment that it needs. The other part is that I also use KB/M, so:
-KB/M in DUST is and has been terrible since Uprising 1.0 (Chrome was amazing for KB/M) -KB/M also has no aim assist
So it could just be that the lack of AA on KB/M, and the generally cringeworthy post-Uprising KB/M controls, could be at fault. It could also be that I'm running dual Magsecs, and so I don't have an alternative weapon to fall back upon... but dual Magsecs is the best way I can think of to maximize Magsec kills, so it's a bit of a wash either way on that count. |

Henrietta Unknown wrote:I have to admit, the event does not reflect well on the Magsec's average killing ability. A tryhard who is probably also a RR enthusiast, pumping out some 80 kills an hour, assuming he's playing 23 hours straight, is not a representation of the typical player who just "likes" to run a Magsec.
Not to be bitter about him, but his count, helped by boosting or not, isn't going to highlight the inherent problems of the Magsec. I might as well say it is the poorest-performing weapon aside from the Flaylock.
Well, CCP Frame did repost a revised listing in this thread about the event numbers. The revised listing is a little more than halfway down the first page, though I'll list the numbers here just for comparison:
#1 MLT Bolt, 999 kills #2 MLT Ion, 877 kills #3 MLT Scrambler, 617 kills #4 MLT Knives, 515 kills #5 MLT Flaylock, 361 kills #6 MLT SMG, 277 kills
And a drumroll for the dead last place weapon: #7, the MLT Magsec, at a whopping 195 kills. The bolt has an ~14% increase in killcount compared to the Ion, which is the next lowest The difference between the SMG and the Magsec is 42%! (I use the SMG for comparison since it's the closest in killcount to the Magsec, much the same way the bolt and ion are very close.)
So it's actually a lot less than the original numbers indicate, and IMO is somewhat more reflective of what I'm seeing in the matches I'm playing (IE, when MLT sidearms show up it's mostly bolt and ion pistols).
Of course, the updated numbers actually do reflect quite poorly on the Magsec... but whether or not the event is providing extreme bias against the Magsec I couldn't say. |
