Hey Breaking.
i understand you want to help testing ADS and how they work but the reality is CCP purposely want the Assault Dropship to perform poorly. I don't say this as a wild assumption but simply look at everything that has been done and the current forum responses people and yourself have voiced out of concern on so many threads before Delta release and after it's release
T
heir has been serious disregard of variables from the dropships point of view,
(Angle of Approach + Speed + Distance) Is what laws the Assault Dropship having a gun on the nose, viable. If they were using numbers/facts/statistics/equations/ correctly they would have understood that
reducing the small turrets rate of fire on dropships would seriously break Assault Dropship mechanics if not done correctly, and they would also have a better swarm turning radius to balance out how fast swarms travel now. If this was the intention. CCP Rattati has assured us that the numbers are full proof, so why are Assault Dropships in such a bad place without a response to the dropship community? If they wanted to actually balance them they would listen to the feedback from those who fly dropships to what's the issue they are facing and cross reference it with their "StatisticsGäó." They would engage the community instead of cherry pick forum threads that doesn't work on maintaining the fix as is and give meaningful information back to the dropship community and actually discuss their issues with them. Small Turrets PG/CPU consumption was asked by a Dev if it really needed to be changed. This can easily be seen as lack of regard for vehicles and fixing them.
This all looks to me of a game looking at how they can save the already dwindling Dust 514 fan base to make them happy and those who have spent the time along with their skill points not making the cut ousted. Now if by some chance Rattati and his team really mean well, then there is a great deal of faults to fixing the balance of Dust 514.
Questions that come to mind are why even single out the dropship when A/V, HAV's, and LAV's are not balanced as well. All A/V is balanced with HAV's in relation to damage. If this wasn't true then why are dropship fittings mimic HAV the best way they can and A/V damage output is so extreme in relation to dropships? Why wasn't Rendering Issues solved before breaking the already fragile A/V and vehicle balance? Why in the previous hotfix has Installation Turrets get an HP Buff due to HAV's destroying them but no realization how it would be effected by Dropships? Why make it so that dropships are the only vehicle targeted by two types of installation turrets automatically, thats the Blaster and Missile Installation Turrets, but the other vehicles only one?At this point whichever the case, the game will just become less appealing to dedicated fans of this game, and once those players who embrace the broken changes will do as they have done to any other game in similar fashion. They will simply leave it for another. Myself personally I don't have the time to invest more into this game and it's bad decisions. I have supported CCP and Dust from the very beginning. I have always wanted the game to be balanced, live up to what CCP is trying to do, and none of this constant trying to reason with the community of players that don't use dropships and explain to them extensive on a constant basis what isn't working in a meaningful way. With the many updates and bad outweighing good for the updates, is the Dust 514 team even checking over their work? The goal is to balance it not to place the game in a position where one side is better than the next for one update etc.
If these players who look at other players as the enemy would understand, is the players are not making the game and how it is. They are not setting the parameters for this game to make your enjoyment bad. The players like you are not walking in everyday to CCP's Shanghai headquarters and working on the game. Well that's a logical assessment and my opinions for all they are worth. Hope this helps you out!
