I played it smart and put my points in some of the weakest weapons with some of the best synergies in hopes it would turn out well.
It turned out ok I have at least one useful weapon I think I need practice with its range though. I actually liked using my ion pistol more than my AR before the hotfix now ill use either I will have to learn its capabilities to be efficient, but the range is horrid.
I have to be careful who and when I shoot because I can't drop someone long range unless i get lucky, they are heavy, or they just stand there A great change from before though is if you are at 10% health at long range I'll kill you.

I went through all my SP in like 10 minutes right after we got them, and that was across three toons.
Luckily for me, I already have ScPs at level 5 proficiency, BPs at 3, SRs at 4, and PLCs at 2 on my main. Being skilled into every weapon is fun.... |

Yeah, pretty quick here as well. Proto'd into Cal Sent, Adv'd into CalMando and CalAssault, did some core upgrades, and got into explosives for those wonderful RE's and core locus grenades.

Oooo Cal Sent was prolly a good investment with the shield changes. I am a lil jelly would have been cool to try I do however still have a toon with its sp. In fact good thinking Nightshade you made you choice for me.

Maxed the ion pistol but it doesn't work as good as I would have liked lucky I had just enough sp so semi max our the flaylock which is working relatively well with my AR might give the magsec a try because it is the best compliment to an AR since it matches it in range with an opposite profile.

The ion pistol was good before its pretty great now the extra rounds make a huge improvement and the charge is great to execute people.
Edit: I use them with the gk assault bonuses so your use may vary

Same, burned my sp instantly. Got shiny proto suits on all 3 alts, polished off some weapons I now enjoy using and that's it. Bring on the next mcc!

Got my Min Sentinel and Min Assault to 5 and put some points into my SMG because I only had 2 Sidearms to Proto and needed a third.
And I burned through 5 Million, not a noobly 2 or 3...
If you find an issue and I stumble upon your thread, I will do my darnedest to get the issue known.

Yeah, I can't wait to go all out Shield Tanked Cal Sent with a Boundless HMG (Don't know about the burst after the changes, seems like it will overheat REALLY quickly). I just can't wait for Echo and the possible change to rep tools (repping shields as well as armor). That is going to be phenomenal!

Put half into Minmatar scouts, cloaks and Nova Knives. Coupled with a scrambler pistol, I am having so much damn fun right now. Haven't used cloaks at all until now and WOW they are awesome.
Other half I'm holding on to for some flexibility on my next dropship fits.

Rail rifle isn't that SP sucking, so I would say yes to that. I don't run scouts at all so I can't comment, but Adv. Cal Assault is pretty nice. With the extra slots, CPU, and PG, I think the upgrade to assault would be worth it.

Haven't got a single point into anything other than Sniper Rifle OP 2 (Tactical) and a Gal MF G-1. Kinda prudent atm.
...I really should get the shields and armor maxed, shouldn't I? Sitting on lvl 4 each.

My alts are just testers for my main and my main assault gear is fixed because of synergy (for better or worse) The alts have ****** names so I will use them to test stuff then delete.
Edit: With scouts as UP as they are  I can't really get a good read so I think I will focus on heavy I already have the heavy weapon proff for av anyway.
