Well, I checked this thread around the time it started, and it looks like no one has replied yet (I was too busy to reply earlier), so I guess I'll share what I know.
//:Time As a Logistics: 1 Year+ //:Skills: Gallente Logi 5, Rep 4, Nano 4, Injector 4, Scanner 3, Armor 5, Shield 5, Core Skills (ALL) 4.
Alright. You're going to need to forgive me here, as it's been FOREVER since I've played Logistics, but I'll see if I can remember how to not be a scrub. ;)
So, first off, of course, your main disadvantage as a Logistics is your LACK. OF. SIDEARM. It'll kick your a*s sometimes, if you're dumb like me. I rely on my sidearm way more than a normal person should. Even if the enemy is at low health and I have a full clip in my rifle, I'll pull out my KLO-1 to try and get the style points. Because of this disadvantage, I strongly suggest (which means DO IT NOW) to get levels in your weapon of choice, and max out reload speed. I can't remember the speed at which I reload my Kaalakiota Magsec, but it's almost as nice as just plain switching weapons. Seriously, do it. In the middle of a firefight, if you're caught in the open with 3 shots in the clip AND in a reload animation, you're screwed.
Also, slot layouts. Last I heard, Logistics had plenty of Low and High slots. It should go without saying that this means more tank, as you're already pretty fast as a Medium suit, and you have the 2nd best scanning-related stats in the game, next to Scouts. HOWEVER, you're the 3rd slowest frame in the game. Assaults are just a fraction of a fraction faster than you. So, what you could do, if you don't want to tank it all out, is buff up your speed and stamina. But scanning is pretty low-priority. Leave it to a Scout. You might already know this, but...
Amarr: Brick Tankers. Tons of Plates, minimum reps. Gallente: Rep Tankers. More reps than plates, but don't overdo it. Caldari: Shield Tankers. Wouldn't call them bricks, but wouldn't call them Hit N' Runners either. Just be sure to get at MOST one Regenerator in there, and have Regulators in your lows. Minmatar: Hit N' Run. Minimum shielding, maximum Regenerators and Regulators (works very well if you use cover. My scout (Caldari) can rep his shields to full within 3 seconds of entering cover). Downside, of course, is you only have like 400 shield at most.
Those are all optional, but they are suggested, if you want to fit the race.
Repping: No one's going to wait around while you repair them. The most important thing you learn as a Logistics is that People. Are. Idiots. They see a yellow glow around their screen, what do they do? Run in the opposite direction, straight into the middle of enemy fire. They like to think the repper makes them invincible. And to a certain extent (we'll get to that), it's true. But not for most people.
Reviving: I swear to Heaven, Hell, and Earth, if I EVER enter a match and see you using either 1) Rusty Needles, or 2) Dumb Needle Tactics, I will personally disown you as a Logistics and as a Brother. Two main things you gotta know here. First being, never use a Rusty Needle. That is, one that only heals 20% when revived. Sure, you get the points, but that's pretty much a death sentence for whoever you revive. Especially if they're a low-HP frame like a Scout. Second, NEVER. EVER. EEEEEVER revive in a firefight. Your job isn't to provide active support (although do what you can), it's to clean up the mess once everyone is finished. If you're in the middle of a blazing firefight with enemies in all directions, DO NOT run towards the little "Help me!" marker that's sitting in the open with no cover or anything to defend you. Revive when you see NO ONE on your minimap, and there's no gunfire. Do that, and I'll be your best friend.
Rallying: Uplinks... I can't help you there. Never could figure out good placement. :/ Just... Place them where they won't get shot? Corners work well.
Scanning: As of 1.X, Scans now work in Snapshots. Don't do a 360 turn when you scan. This might be old news to you, but you never know. Scans are pretty simple, honestly.
Nanohives: Hives are also very simple. Place them near friendlies (Snipers will love you forever. You'll also have less to give to your fellow frontliners. Choose wisely), place them in cover, and be careful with them. It sucks to lay down both your Hives in the first 5 minutes and then run out of ammunition 2 minutes later. :/
Also, read The Logi Code. It pretty much tells you how to Logi, but like 5x better than me. It's a guide that tells you placement for your first 5m SP (probably too late now, but whatever). I would get you a link, but I can't find one right now. :(
