first, let me say thank you for the MCC. I had so much fun, and a lot of funny moments. Thank you Rattati, and everyone who works at CCP Shanghai.
Now, for the Caldari Scout. Btw, this isn't QQ. (--_-- )
I've seen a lot of players complain about slayer scouts, and I suppose, some of those complaints are not without reason. But I'm bothered that for the CalScout, the only thing she can really excel at (as far as what she can fit) is a slayer scout.
See, most of the e-war modules in this game are low slots with the exception of precision enhancers. But the Calscout has only 1 low slot, with 3 high slots. That means if you're going to be running e-war, you're mostly going to be using precision enhancers... and there's one role precision enhancers are really really good at: tracking your prey. So right from the get go that's the mentality the CalScout forces on you.
Then there are the low slots. In my opinion, I think a suit should be able to fit at least one decent fitting at standard level that defines the role, then as you level up to advanced and proto, the extra slots let you further specialize in that role, or change fittings to create new playing styles and different roles.
But again, the Calscout has only 1 low slot. So at standard, you have a very limited option between running dampners, code breakers, range amplifiers (yes, I know this is a racial bonus, but we're talking about what the suit leans towards slot wise), or the other scout specific modules like cardiac regulators and kin cats not to mention armor reps. So, again, with no real way to specialize in e-war outside of passive and racial leveling up, the suit further defines itself as a slayer scout.
Would a different slot layout have helped this situation? I was thinking if it started out like the Minmatar, 2- high, 2- low, and then get extra highs as you level up to advanced and proto, the Calscout could have started out as something more than a slayer.
I guess I have no problem with this, but I see a lot of hate towards slayer scouts in the forums. I want to try to do something else besides be a slayer scout, but the Calscout doesn't seem to want to help. So what should I do?

okay. it's just, I'm already a scrub, I don't want to be called a fotm scrub too. (T-T ) I picked Calscout because I like how she looks (and if you go to the Dust page on the ps store, I guess CCP has made her the main character/ mascot of Dust 514).

hmmm... I didn't think of using equipment to affect the way I play.
This is my current build on a standard cal scout
RR ZN- Nova Knives
militia shield extender x 2 basic shield extender
militia armor rep
X3 Quantum Nano hives K-2 Nano injector
But I really like adipem's build, and 2Berries is right, I'm approaching this all wrong. I should start thinking about my team rather than just solo-ing everything.

Glad you like it! If you ever have questions about Scouts, feel free swing by Barbershop in the Locker Room. o7 will do and thanks to everyone who helped me. I feel a lot better about going Cal Scout with the sp I got from the MCC. Thanks again. Everyone gets a like, even Izlare Lenix. lol.
(^_^ )/ thank you.
P.S. also, sorry, now that I look back on it, this should have gone in the Rookie Training Grounds. (-. - ;)
