CCP made bank from this event? A friend and corpmate squeezes his pennies until they scream and he still bought a $0.99 starter pack for the 3-day active booster.

Bright Steel wrote:I hope they did so that maybe they will keep this going for a while and maybe fund a client side update It's possible. The hotfixes are slowly restoring the players' faith in CCP. I swore up and down I wouldn't buy AUR from CCP, but I did for this event.
We need a little progress bar of AUR sales to get a client-side update

PO0KY wrote:I feel like most people didn't even know about the event because they don't visit the forums. Then the people that do visit the forums have enough sp or just don't care anymore, myself included. The splash screen really needs to update with the event dates weeks ahead of time, not days. I know most people skip over that screen, but it might get a few more folks interested.

ResistanceGTA wrote:Sony doesn't charge for those, its just CCP not wanting to spend the time.. CCP is a business. They will not want to dedicate labor hours to Dust 514 unless they see healthy profits coming in. If Dust 514 is turning a tiny profit, then they will probably keep letting CCP Rattai and Logibro hotfix things. If Dust 514 begins netting more AUR sales then maybe they will consider investing some of that profit into labor hours for a client-side update.

Michael Arck wrote:A client side update would be exciting. This game is pretty much the only game I play on PS3. Im even looking into getting a better HDD to optimize my Dust experience. The difference when loading into matches is noticeable. It also keeps the PS3 from being as loud.

Onesimus Tarsus wrote:So, give them lots and lots more money and they'll possibly do everything we want? Woooo hoooooo! In my mind, "lots and lots" means $60+ a month. Dust 514 has not earned that level of commitment from me... especially considering Dust 514 will never have PvE. Depending on what I see in hotfix echo and foxtrot, I might go back to buying 30-day boosters again. $15 a month isn't much, but multiply that times 1,000 players and Dust 514's financials are looking better.
And you are right, us buying more AUR does not guarantee CCP will do anything at all with Dust 514. They could pocket the money or put that money towards Legion's development. I'll give you that.
