Since they can dice you so far away, change their name to Nova Swords or something...
Either that or reduce their range back to how it was... You already reduced the charge time to the point where the charge doesn't even matter... As well as gave it an adhesion so they can stab you even if you appear no where in front of them...

Usually I can away from the first strike in my assault suit. In a commando or a sentinel, you're screwed I'm sorry. But it's one of they're only hard counters like the Plasma Cannon, Rail Rifle at range, and Remote Explosives.

It really doesn't make any sense to me why Ratatti increased the range. I know he wanted more people to use them, but... well, aside from 2.5 meters of slash distance not making any sense, they really didn't need the range boost. A little hit detection tweaking, but like the scout suits before 1.8, the buffs to the extent they came were a bit excessive.
Nova Knives are best sidearm.

They still take lots of skill to use.
If they were so OP, EVERYONE would run them. Just because they are a bit more popular now doesn't mean the buffs were overdone.
Besides, this 0.5 increase was an appeasement for those of us wanting back pedal speed reduced to 80-90 percent of walking speed.
If you are willing to make that trade, so am I.

Hell, you can make the range 1m if you drop backpedal speed by 35% across the board.

Nope. I use knives exclusively and I can say with 100% certainty that they needed the range buff. The knives are fine. Besides, you can't fix hit detection in a hotfix.
