So you're giving swarms more speed, You're also lowering the ISK price of the ADS. Consider a small eHP buff to the ADS ? You deliberately said " Pilots will now lose more dropships than ever, hence the lowing ISK price " I propose give them an eHP buff or I can assure you, flying an ADS will now become a frail memory.
First reason being is I also saw where Rattati had stated that with Proto Swarms and 3 Dmg Mods, he could not take out anything.
- My Rebuttal being is Taking out vehicles is a 2 or 3 man job thusly a team effort and should be. No one clone should be able to take out a vehicle, barely take one out ? Yes. You didn't say you were with anyone when trying to take out the ADS. If you were with someone, you possible would've taken out more than the ADS.
[*] As for the eHP bonus I am asking for, is due to the ADS getting bombarded 24/7 literally by AV. There just always has to be that guy on the field with a damn Proto Forge Gun. Thusly flying an ADS Takes a well amount of training and about 20 or 10 Million ISK to compensate for the crashes of both the ADS and the normal ones for beginners. Give us the eHP Bonus !

I was in a squad today where 3 of us tried to take out a dropship together. I used an advanced swarm launcher with damage mod, one person used their proto tank and the third used a standard swarm launcher.
We spent most of the match taking this dropship on and not once did we knock him out the sky. We didn't even get much further than knocking his shields off.
Not everyone is using proto gear, so whether they need a buff or not shouldn't be based on whether a proto team can shoot it down. |

If it should always take a team effort to take down a vehicle
Would you accept a change to vehicles that required a team effort just to operate them on the same level a single player can now?
An ADS/HAV with just a pilot and no gunner for the main weapon would barely be able to take out lone infantry. That's fair, right? |

If you want a new players perspective on this issue. I am smart enough to pull out a swarm if there are tanks or ads all over. I remember using the starter fit and putting a hurting on tanks and dropships. Now one of my most used fits is an adv minmando and I've taken enough vehicles I know some tanker vets have seen the Giant pop up when they died. I personally don't think swarms need a buff. I looked at the price of dropships and if I lost even one of those a match it would hurt.
As a noob, I either have a natural ability to use a swarm or time could be spent on more important issues that we all love to hate. It should take a team effort and not one noob with a swarm. If the enemy is smart enough to get the heck out of the way then good play. If I can evade death long enough to land about 4 good shots and they're man or woman enough to stick around then good play on my part. They are either pretty fair as is or it could use a nerf rather than buff.

They're lowering the price because more ships will be lost. If the ships have more HP, then there are more chances for survival, bringing the price back up to balance out the health and ability to dodge most fire.
That said, tank prices should be increased.

Every map there's an ADS with a proto Rail/Mssl, so of course there is accordingly a forge-toting heavy every map as well

Honest opinion
I totally disagree about it being a team effort. If one side took out a few vehicles and sent them to different spots on the map to pester the opposing team, then it shouldn't take a group at each location to kill them - that leaves the side without the vehicles at a huge disadvantage.
I always play by the logic of 'it takes 1 sniper to kill a light/medium suit, 2 to kill a heavy'. Snipers can help out the team by knocking shields off someone so it's easier for the infantry on the ground to kill them. You don't *need* 2 snipers to kill a heavy, it just makes it easier. You do need multiple people to take out a vehicle though. If 2 starter fits working together can't take out a tank, I don't think that's very fair - it's hardly adding to the new player experience (I have tried taking out a tank with my starter fit along with another squad member, and it didn't even nearly work).
While proto gear is all well and good, some thought should also be given to the newbies to the game, who don't have the luxury of choosing to use the kit which causes the most damage. |
