I see more hmg heavies than anything especially in PC.
Gun control is not about guns...it's about control.
The only way to ensure freedom is by having the means to defend it.

Man if you ask me the heavy hmg-ers are the scrubs [Trollface]. Brick tank and fire a wall of bullets. Pah! Filthy vermin!
Though lets be honest guys, if you are not doing things the EVE way and cross training as much as you possibly can then you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. Of course for vets this is easy, new players not so much.

You have to realize, some of scouts, Minjas in particular, had been ignored and marginalized for nearly a year. Now that we are relevant, there are people stating the same things you are AND TOTALLY MEANING IT!! It is impossible for us to tell which is which, particularly via a text based medium. I appreciate that you were merely exaggerating, but be careful because you may stoke the fire of people who are so bias that they can't even accept facts after they have been presented to them, several times, with CCP sources. Then we never get a reasonable discussion, and they start talking stupid things like taking away scout light weapons and all EWAR bonuses whatsoever. Ok next time i will put that im exaggerating in my post so people know. |

Every scout has 2 types of bonuses. Damage and hack, precision and stamina, damp and range, damp and precision.
That said, I agree that Caldari and Gallente Scouts should have their bonuses changed. Caldari shouldn't ever have dampening, but range and precision made them too strong against anything and everything besides a Gallente Scout of old.
What if they had single bonuses, but stronger ones?
Caldari: +10% range per level (because that's already insane).
Gallente: +4% Dampening per level? Or just keep it at 3 and lower Caldari to +5% range per level. |

Suits cost ~3 mil to proto. Thats a lot. And is also why people are still running scouts.
While I am hardly any form of slayer, I must disagree about the reasons to why people still prefer the Scout suits over the Assault suits. It takes a lot of dedication to only run Assault suits, and I can only think of a few people who continuously runs Assault suits. (As opposed to running both Scout and Assault suits in the same match.)
Got both pro Gallente Assault and Scout suits. Got both adv Caldari Assault and Scout suits.
Much prefer the Scout suits over the Assault suits. (* 2:nd equipment slot.) (* CPU/PG: Can fit PRO weapon and 2 PRO equipment without gimping the fit.) (* Passive Scans.) (* Dampening.) (* Quicker, Faster.) (* Recharge...)
Prefer the Gallente Scout over the Caldari Scout. (* Dampened and speed mods? Works really well with knives...) (* Though these days I mostly run the Scout Suits in place of Assault suits GÇö Tank, tank, tank, tank, dmg, damp, uplinks, injector, nanohives (R), nanohive, triage hives...)
Regarding Assaults: (Prefer the Caldari over the Gallente; better recharge, quicker) Caldari Assault: Shield recharge is nice GÇö sort of like the Gallente Scout, the Caldari Scout still has better recharge though. Gallente Assault: Damage mods and decent tank is a neat trick when you are in a squad, but hardly as neat as Scouts are.
Personally I think that, compared to Scout suits, it (currently) requires more personal skill of a player to run an Assault suit well (Which is why I am still running a Scout suit, easy mode ftw ). You simply lack some of the distinct advantages that you get from a Scout suit while you are in an Assault suit, playing in a squad can make up for this but if you are in a decent enough squad you could likely have lolled around with a Plasma Cannon and done well too... |
