Seriously, do it.
Matchmaking has vastly improved. I played about 10 matches today and all but one of them were completely balanced. When I have the time, I'm going to send CCP Rattati all of the photos I took (smartphone only, sorry) of the rosters as they are at the end of every match.
My last match was a 4-point map with the Orbital Artillery Outpost. The opposing side had a full squad while my side had only randoms but both sides were able to push through to the point where the match dragged on because all of the objectives were constantly swapping sides from beginning to end. We only lost because we ran out of clones while the opposing side had about a few dozen left. So we seriously bled each other out but it was epicly fun. Again, this was not the only such match.
I don't say this often, but when I do, you know matchmaking is fixed.
PS: Also give the Dust Team a beer of their choice in addition to that bonus. They finally got Scotty to do it right.

That's what I've been noticing recently. Even the ambush matches are looking balanced rather than a complete meat grinder like it use to be.

It still puts you into a few oddball matches but from what I have witnessed, those are becoming less common now. I'm finding myself being pitted against solo players who are at my level and have ran into a few that challenged me to a knifing duel in the middle of some fun matches that normally would've been ripe with pubstomping.
