Formalizing request with a thread for discussion and so forth.
Compact hives offer 25 nanite clusters and require level 2 in the skill.
At level 4 in the skill, ADV compact hive with 30 clusters.
At level 5, PRO compact hive with 36 clusters (same as STD hive).
Leave armor repair amount the same across all tiers.
Discuss.
Or whatever.

Increasing the quantity from 1 at ADV and PRO is a decent alternative, imo.
I'd say ADV 2, PRO 3, nanite clusters remain at 25, maybe rep amount scales up by 5 or 10 as per Thokk's suggestion...
?
OR increase nanite clusters to 30 at ADV and at PRO it remains 30 but you get the second hive?

But would they put in a PRO without an ADV?

I'd be okay with that.

ADV and PRO do have hybrid hives. They don't refill as fast but you can carry more.
I'd alter this suggestion to be +1 deployable carried per level for logistics.
Then go get a logi-friend,that's what they're there for.
As it is,i've got to give this "we don't need logistics" idea a -1. Those hives also have huge blooms. The utility of the compact is its tiny bloom. Yes, this is useful for scouts, to hide their hive out of plain sight and have freedom from being by a supply depot or a logi (hint: scouts aren't heavies, we don't lumber around slowly on crackling golden bloody leashes). It is also important for snipers to be able to resupply without advertising their position to everybody within 500m who can see the bloom of the nanohive through the terrain and structure elements that don't render at that distance (hint: I've seen nanohives and uplinks from across the map that were hidden from view as soon as I looked through my sniper rifle scope and thus forced the game to render said terrain or structure element).

Disagree. Logis are there to rep heavies, drop uplinks, pick people up with needles, and spam nanohives.
Let's make it impossible for any suit other than logis to have nanohives, rep tools, needles and uplinks. We don't want anyone to NOT need a logi with them at all times, right? While we're at it, let's make it so supply depots don't supply ammo to infantry. Also, add a new vehicle nanohive and make supply depots not repair or supply ammo for vehicles either. Make it so all you can do at a supply depot is switch suits. This way even tankers and ADS will need a logi passenger with them to hop out and put down vehicle ammo hives and repair their armor for them.
Come on.
The argument doesn't hold water. It's time to introduce better compacts for scouts and snipers - both legitimate playstyles - with greater CPU/PG needs, ISK costs and SP requirements than the current STD compact hive.

I don't drop links where I snipe anymore - too many bluedots giving me away with their forge guns or just their bad sniping. BUT I would use a super-limited compact uplink like that to give the rest of my squad one good fast deployment into the heart of the enemy.

But seriously,no. Logistics should remain the best with all equipment, and everyone else should either befriend a logi,or suffer without.
Plus i F*CKING HATE assault scouts, and this would enable those sh*theads to thrive.
Being stealthily killed, aww man dat scout has skillz. Watching a scout charge head first into a group bouncing and killing with KN,REs or SG,h.e.l.l. no.
TBH,scouts should lose the extra equipment slot. Also, hybrid hives already exist.
TL;DR logistics is being eroded by scouts, and this would only add to that erosion. You're missing the part where compact hives already exist and have not "eroded" logistics.
You're also missing the part where the entire point of the compact hive is the tiny dome. Being more discreet is the benefit you gain from having much less ammo/repair available from the compact hive. The point is to hide it where it isn't going to be noticed.
I feel like I'm having to explain the same thing over and over again to idiots who either can't or don't read.

"Gogogogogogogogogo!!!" Pro level uplink. 'Abyss' Carthum Drop Uplink Only for AUR,there isn't an isk variety. -75% spawn time 5 max spawns (squad) Blows up if the user dies. LRN2 Market Pay to win? No, I'm not buying aurum just to get uplinks.
Also, "assault scouts" are already thriving because CCP's nerf to the cloak did not address the actual problem with assault scouts, which is brick tanking. And Rattati listened to our suggestion to give scouts a penalty for fitting normal plates, which would leave tanky scouts the option of the less effective ferroscale or reactive plates as "light armor" options - and he didn't do it. you want brick tanking "Assault scouts" to go away, make a qq thread about scouts with 800+ hp and beg for either fitting penalty to plates for scouts or profile penalty for same.
MAYBE something will get done then.

Meee One wrote:Sadly enough,i witness scouts spam more eq on average than logistics. Ok,have all deployables refill at supply depots, and it might be reasonable. But,it just isn't worth it to most to stay logistics. They have nothing giving them an edge in survival. So,they spam with the easily killed logi, then swap to a suit that can survive better. And i don't blame them, who wants to be in a slow scout suit anyway? Until players feel confident they won't be OHK and lose all their undeployed gear, nothing will change. But seeing as SG/KN scouts, and soon to be OHK sniper rifles are about to be unleashed i don't see it changing anytime soon. And trapping players in the logistics suit by removing bonuses if they swap is just as bad. You're saying 'enjoy your walking coffin, you can't hide, you can't evade, you can't tank, and you can't kill'. With all weapons getting more and more 'viable',you'll see players migrate away from those logistics in particular. But who cares amirite? Who needs logistics? We have scouts! This topic is outside the scope of the OP (compact hives), but I just want to say:
I've got two people in my corp - Opus Arcana - who are dedicated logis. They spam EQ and they follow their heavybro around and that heavy will go 40-3 while they (the logis) go 0-10 or however many deaths. And they end the match with 3500+ WP consistently. Dem rep tools, yo.
If a person wants to play logi, they will. Just like in MMOs if somebody wants to be the healer, they will. I remember several years ago when I played WoW, you had the healer priest and you had the shadow priest. The healer priest would keep you alive though Kel Thuzad himself was staring you down with his baleful glare. The shadow priest couldn't heal anything, but he would sure as hell kill you. A good healer character takes a certain type of player/mindset to make it work. We love those people. They're a rare breed.
If someone wants to skill into a logi suit and max out the skills for the links and hives, just to spam EQ and switch out their suits - let 'em. I'll be along with my flux grenades to clear that **** out so my squad can rush their hardpoint and annihilate them.
