Or do you have to pay close attention to each skin you make for a suit?
To me it looks like there is a system in place to automatically apply skins in the right way on suits, but I just want to make sure.

if done right i would hope they have a pattern preset for each suit and a design is simply laid over it and its applied in the correct manner so it should be a simple case of colouring in the right bits and saving it, just as in most game engine editors. there is a general rule to 3d texturing that the texture is applied in a fixed pattern and anyone with a reasonable understanding of 3d design would be capable of applying new textures (they teach it to 16yr olds in college ffs)
Never argue with an idiot. they bring you down to their level and beat you through experience

CCP can put any colour on any suit. Proved with the recent addition of the SVER suits. The assault, scout and heavy did not existed previously with those colour patterns. Not even in the closed beta. CCP claimed that they add old "vintage suits" to the game but in reality they created new BPO's which didnt existed before.
They say when you die you see a white light which then forms the line of:
"GAME OVER! PLEASE INSERT COIN"
