So some quick assumptions:
How many will participate? 2500 maybe?
Let's base it on the goal of hitting 2,000,000 dead, shall we? Why not...
2,000,000 / 2500 = 800 deaths per player. Seems daunting at first glance. Hang with me here...
If each player plays 15 matches per day for 3 days that is 800 deaths over 45 matches which comes to 17.7777 deaths per match.
My concern is that we won't have the turn out or enthusiasm that we did for the first Million Clone Challenge. It was so much fun and I was new. I digress.
So these figures seem quite doable but will the blueberries pitch in and see the bigger picture? Hell, for that matter, will Vets see the bigger picture and care?
Domination is 300 clones per match with all dead. Seems the most efficient even if some idiot hacks and only 200 expire before the match ends that is still faster than 100 in ambush.
I will remain optimistic. Can we do it? I want my Proto Assault.

The clone challenge is easier to achieve than it sounds. My only concern is Destiny might cause the average kills per player to drop and it might be harder to hit the stretch goal than last time.

By my math ...
2,000,000 clones = 20k (min) to 40k (max) ambush matches Assuming 75 avg clones lost per ambush match and 2k active participants: 30k matches / 2k players = 15 matches / player = 5 matches per player per day
Easy!

If I remember correctly from the last event, we were closing in on 1 million in the first 12 hours.
We were able to get 2.7 million I believe for that weekend.
I will probably at the very least make it a point to come back and donate my 10 matches worth of clones.

You are completely correct on the topic of participation and player numbers.
On the topic of Destiny, we actually had a great turnout last weekend on Dust so reaching the goal is very possible, if everyone chips in.

You have to take into account match length as well. You can run 2-3 ambushes in the time it takes to finish a domination. Just run with Domination and Ambush selected, and everything should all work out. As long as everyone is pushing and trying to get in as many matches as they can, we should get there easily, probably even the 2mil easily.

First, pimary is 1m not a 2m. Second, average online looks like a 3000.
so, 1m/3k=333

I'm telling you my fellow mercenaries, it can be accomplished. Don't worry about the math, get out there and destroy. Make sure you eliminate the clone by shooting fallen foes. Gather up your friends, maybe hit up Ambush for good measure and lets have some fun out there.
Last one brought some good intense battles, I look forward to that happening again on the battlefield.

Anyone running a reptool or needle during this event should be fed to BURST HMG Sentinels and Cloaked Shotgun/Nova Knife Scouts Simultaneously. Let them decide who gets the meatiest part of the flesh.

Destiny is a nice change of pace since I've played virtually nothing but Dust for that last year and a half.
It's fun, but it's not worth the hype. PvP is shallow (some customization but nothing like Dust, also no roles like vehicles, logistics, etc), there's literally no support for "corporation"/groups (it's either play with your friends or blueberries), it's almost as laggy as Dust (almost ;) ), and, good god, the storyline is TERRIBLE! (Eve lore blows it out of the water), among other things.
Don't get me wrong, it's fun and all, a step up from CoD and all, but still, Dust is my one true love, and I need a little separation to remind me why.
EDIT: Actually on topic: I will be on for the event (not that anyone cares ). Just taking a break. Hopefully Delta will be out by then, but I'm not holding my breath. |

My own calculations.
Goal: 1,000,000 Clones (minimum)
Skirmish = 120 clones/team/match = 240/match Ambush = 50 clones/team/match = 100/match
4166.6 Skirmish matches to reach goal. 10,000 Ambush matches to reach goal (ignoring Ambush OMS for this argument).
Skirmish = 83,332 Minutes to reach goal assuming each match is 20 minutes long. Ambush = 70,000 Minutes to reach goal assuming each match is 7 minutes long.
Using the data coming from Eve Offline as a reference, we can see that we have no problem seeing at least 3200 players logged in at the same time. Using that as a reference, we can complete the calculations.
13.3 Skirmish matches at once. That's 39.9 matches every hour. 32 Ambush matches at once. That's 272 matches every hour.
957.6 Skirmish matches per day. 6528 Ambush matches per day.
4.3 days to reach goal for Skirmish. 1.5 days to reach goal for Ambush.
Make sure you let everyone know to focus ONLY on AMBUSH for those few days.

Under normal conditions when there is no incentives, that is true. But with an event like this, you will likely see people willfully throw themselves into the fire from both sides trying to squeeze every clone death they can from every match.
