I loathe snipers. Never called for any nerfs or buffs on them as they are a valid role of course, I have just always hated the buggers. I might have to even try them out myself with the incoming changes. Hated them in this game, hated them in Battlefield.
I can foresee spending a lot of time in / near the enemy redline looking for these feckers.

I had some rando blueberry sniper in a squad once who I could say, "There is a minmatar logi on alpha. Kill it." and a few seconds later the logi's name would show up in the kill feed. It was nice. The reduced range should reduce the number of redline snipers a bit.

I think there are TWO HUGE problems though.
1. These type of snipers are pretty rare lets be honest (But.....)
2. Its totally because of the sniping mechanics in DUST. If you are not crouched / stashed away / in a prime location, what good are you as a sniper in this game. There is no way to really move / stand up and snipe or anything even remotely like that and that for me is why things are the way they are.
Now I wouldn't want to see crazy no scoping / quick scoping but it would be nice for the sniper rifles to actually have some more use in the mid range without having to crouch like a ****** before every shot. So yea I do understand the problems.

Let's all focus on dat OP 690 h3adsh0t dmg. ^ This ^ I love all the bitching. And 90% of it is people who have never picked up a Sniper Rifle in this game and just see that 1 magic # (Like 1560 HP or whatever on the Charge). Forget all the other stuff like, as you said, sway, lower magazine capacity, lower total rounds carried (18 for a Charge), the fact you have to sit absolutely still in order to make a shot over 20 feet with any prayer of landing it, etc. It's all about that damned Alpha Damage. Yet none of these same people complain about a militia Forge that does 1200 HP Damage and has a 300 Meter range. You can move with it, move and shoot, and not have to sit and scream to people "KILL ME PLEASE."
While I somewhat agree....
The forge gun cannot head glitch imperviously behind hills a billion miles away. And if forge sniping is as easy as people think, why are there not more?
There used to be a ton of people who would forge snipe, then they nerfed the splash, now you only get skilled shooters forge sniping. The way it should be.
And no I'm not complaining at all about the changes to snipers. I feel they need a LOT more help in the mechanics department (i.e crouching to shoot is crap)

The head glitch thing I've never had an issue with. If someone can kill me, I don't think I've ever come across someone I couldn't kill right back. That is just personal experience. I know it happens because too many people have brought it up for it to be some grand conspiracy. True. I will give you that with the forge. I've done the forge Sniping before and it is damn hard to pull off. The splash nerf made it a LOT more difficult. There are still a few good ones out there (Funkmaster Whale comes to mind) but it definitely takes a certain amount of skill I know you're not complaining specifically. I think your points are totally solid and realistic. The mechanics are out of whack. While not being in favor of quick sniping, it should be easier to pull up and fire a shot off then having to crouch down, wait for everything to stop moving, move the scope, then fire. This takes a MINIMUM of 4-5 seconds, more if using a Charge or unsure of the target. There should be a way to cut that down at least somewhat.
That last part is exactly it man. The problem I feel is that this is not something CCP can change with a few numbers tweaks on their servers unfortunately.
