When I use my ADS as infantry support I get shot down by friendly forges cause infantry doesn't like the idea of me taking their potential kills even if I only kill those that are flanking my blueberries.

So I am supposed to support your slaying? No. That's not good enough. All vehicles shouldn't just support you. No you don't support slaying. You support troop movement, battle lines, logisitcs efforts that kind of thing. No logi vehicles / modules anymore. You provide a spearhead in an Assault. Which is negated by getting hit by AV once or twice, infantry aint gonna pay.You provide mobile cover for staggered movement across flat open terrain Same as above. You provide suppression against enemy infantry Unless you are using rail, that suppressions is negated by accuracy. You provide LOS Artillery support What? You provide Troop Transport (in extreme circumstances) Useless if you don't know where your bluberries wanna go.You provide Anti-Vehicle duties (LAV's, DS, HAV's) If vehicles are for infantry support, there is no need for this. You provide distraction and diversion Aye, but blueberries can't make use of that. This game is not about 'slaying' and as we reach a more nirvana state of balance this will become more apparent. We already have Scouts and Point-man Assaults, who relay the defensive structure of the enemies NULL Cannons. We already have Sentinels who let no man reach his line. We already have Logistics who maintain the front line. We already have Assaults who push that line forward. Slaying is not a role in this game, you can play a match and only loose 12 clones, but still loose, I've seen it happen. Slaying is simply an action that must be performed by certain classes in order to fulfill their primary role. HAV's which are categorised as 'Close Infantry Ground Support' do not need to slay on a regular basis, however it is a nice reward of 50WP when you do. Seriously, nobody is gonna use expensive vehicles for stuff that awards no WP, especially when nobody wants you there if you are trying to be helpful in creative ways instead of just murdering reds and defending/pushing objectives. 'Close Infantry Ground Support' does not necessarily mean not killing things, it can mean that the enemy has to adjust to the HAV and that means infantry can easily kill the AV players, which doesn't happen, blues rather get some popcorn and watch the blue HAV get destroyed than killing those AV players. You have no sympathy for us, why should we have any sympathy for you?

Then I guess that means you need a squad or stay in a group. No sane minded squad will play the game around your tank, and no sane minded infantry is gonna stay out in the open where they cannot do much at all. Infantry doesn't have to stay out in the open like vehicles do.

Infantry doesn't have to stay out in the open like vehicles do. Yup infantry don't want to play around vehicles, they want vehicles to play around them. Its the same with turrets and important installations. Infantry wont protect them, they never do. Yeah, whenever I get near infantry with the intention to provide them with cover and covering fire they instantly scatter away from that location as if I am some sort of an abomination. And then they get on the forums to tell us that we need to play the game for them. When in reality they don't want us anywhere near them. At least they could try being honest for once. I always play for victory and my team instead of going for KDR or ISK efficiency or anything like that, but if I die protecting something that could turn the tide of the battle that blueberries don't seem to be giving a frak about then I get fanmail saying that I'm scrub with no gungame.
But what infantry really wants is all the kills for themselves and auto victory without playing the objective game.

Considering I often pumped my HAV up to a whopping 600K ISK for them, both as an Anti Tank vehicle, bunker/weapons platform, and mobile troop transport...... that attitude really hurt my feelings. Yeah, I've kind of stopped caring about blueberries because they are so ungrateful, unless they happen to be some people I know, for example I must say that ResistanceGTA and his friends can be great blueberries, they know what tank support means, it goes both ways, they kept me alive and I kept them alive. More so they kept me alive tbh. But still, when I saw them assisting me I really wanted to help them in any way I can and then that resulted in me dying in the redline because I was too stupid to get stuck there, and I didn't even have to go there in the first place.
And when I play in a squad I love it when infantry tells me in the comms where I'm needed and possibly what for and what I need to look out for on the field.
For example "Hey you stupid fraking idiot, we need you here at Echo to take out the enemy [insert type] tank" To which I reply with "Alright, on my way" or "I'll get there as soon as I can" or something like that. Or they could be saying "Watch out for the enemy Incubus"
But when everyone is completely silent in the comms not caring about the vehicle support in any way is a bit depressing and then I will most likely stay around one area defending it with the best of my abilities.
There are some very rare occasions when infantry wants to use me as cover and they usually let me know in the comms if they want to do that, and the also usually understand if I say that I have to bail because of X.
So if blueberries want me to help them, they should help me in return as well, and show that they appreciate me helping them, by sticking close to me if possible, I will then provide you with all the help I can to push for an objective or defend one. But if you are not engaging that pesky AV player when there are no other enemies around, I will leave you there to die.

We used to have moments of. Team: True we need you at X to take out a tank! NOW! True: What kind of Tank? Team:Who cares? True: I do. Team: Shield True: What kind of shield tank? Team: Really? True: Yup. What kind of turret? Team: Blaster. True: You could have said that 30 seconds ago....... The feels. You feel it too, don't you? I know this type of situation better than I'd like to.
Or it could go like this: Squad: Enemy tank. Me: What kind of tank and where? Squad: I dunno. Me: Well, where is it? Squad: I said I dunno. Me: Ok, and you don't know what kind of tank it is? Squad: Yeah...... I told you so already. Me: Ok....

Sgt Kirk wrote:So we have Tanks that are supposed to be just for AV and not at all meant for infantry....So tanks are just meant to take out vehicles then?
If that's the case tanks need a small coaxial weapon because that very concept is silly.
The only vehicles left to take out infantry are the ADS because Normal Dropships are near useless and LAVs are way too easy to get shot out of in the gunner seat and can easily be taken out by infantry carried AV.
Small coaxial rail, yes, oh my god, give me that!
