Not actually disappointed with Destiny.
Those guys that rated Destiny a 6/10 are the same ones that rated Titanfall a 9/10, and Call of Duty: Ghosts a 8/10.
Yet, Destiny is completely better than both of those games.
That 6/10 rating is bogus just to get the crowds fired up, and give critics against the game ammunition.
Destiny is a totally superior console gaming experience. The only thing it's missing are proper systems to support player meta-gaming: like pvp territory control, crafting and player economies. Little extras like player "housing" (private spaces) would be nice.
6/10 is baloney, and anyone that has played Destiny seriously with their friends knows this.

Unless I'm missing something, that is. An even more negative comment I heard on that CEO Pyrex video was that people were finishing the story mode in 1 day. Kinda crappy if that's true. So yea, Dust is still my fav FPS. I hope this Legion thing really works out. People in the comment section of the Gamespot review have reported being able to complete the game in less than a day. From what everyone is saying, it's too focused on PVE just like Warframe and very little emphasis is given to PVP.
The only thing Destiny "needs" is a means of making PVP important.
As for the completion time, someone already made the point that many good games can be completed fairly quickly.
Warframe still has me as a hooked player precisely because it's PVE focused. DE, the developers for Warframe, never actually intended for Warframe to have PVP at all. But they still went ahead and provided the Conclave because some players just absolutely begged for it. The only serious player competition in Warframe are clans competing for control of some of the PVE nodes, through Solar Rail construction. Basically, economic competition through PVE territory control. And it works.
Destiny doesn't need PVP to be successful. It's a very fun co-op game, because PVE is simply that good. It uses basic formulae for PVE, and it's fine.
I went to Venus for the first time in Destiny last night, and had an awesome boss fight, with a couple of friends.
My only regret about Destiny is that it's not on PC, and that is also the reason I will leave it behind when Legion has a playable iteration developed.
Otherwise, all the criticism against Destiny is a lot of grasping for straws. Destiny is probably the best next gen console game available right now; and is arguably one of the finest games ever made on merit of the simplicity of its mechanics being so fun.
@OP: CCP doesn't seem to have the budget and staff size of Bungie, so comparisons wouldn't be fair. It would also be unfair to expect Legion to come out in a manner timely enough to be a confronter of Destiny during its infancy, but I have no doubt that it will be a threat to Destiny if and when CCP delivers it.
