The escalation of battle.
Running proto 24/7 wasn't nearly as common as it is today, so when people brought proto, it usually means that shit hit the fan. I personally ran a BPO Assault for most of the time, saving 5 stocked proto suits for when the enemy brings their own.
So me and some of my team brought proto to counter the enemy proto. Then the enemy bring more proto of their own.
And so on until the match is like 50%-60% proto suits. It didn't happen all the time, but when it happened, it was epic, if only because the amounts of money thrown around in those matches weren't a joke back then.

Now I do Jihad Jeeps inside my proto suit, because I can't be bothered to scroll down and get one of my cheap suits.

It's almost as if there was some ISK printing game mechanic that was in the game for months and months before finally being fixed. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Honestly that isn't where I got my money from. It's the liquidation of assets that we got back when Uprising released.
I personally started Uprising with 170mil or so, fell down to 120mil from buying skill books and stocking up on gear, then went up to my current 214mil. Maybe 20mil of that is from playing PC.

Well, we had a reset moving from closed beta to open beta.

Still confused why they ever nerfed that thing. You answered your own question.

#betamemories I ran full proto back then and had no problems with isk. You were the exception not the rule. I honestly never even attempted to run proto 24/7. Who knows, I might have been able to do it too.

I miss being able to see everyone because Cloaks didnt exist and yet scary shotgunners like Calamity Jane and Annie Oakley would still terrorize your team.
I miss all the good players the most though. Seems like the community was a lot more alive, thriving, and hopeful for this game. It's a shame things came to be like they are now.
We needed a Rattati on May 14, 2013 not 2014. I am sort of fed up with cloaks... Being stealthy shouldn't be about pressing a button.

#betamemories And infantry complained about everything, and prices were slashed. An Ishukone Assault Forge went from 117,000 ISK to pocket change. A PRO suit was over 300,000 ISK, and now costs next to nothing. Congratulations, forum-goers. You ruined the game. I remember early open beta when it would kill me financially to loose more than 2 adv AR's... a day... I feel like one of those old guys that say, "Back in my day you would see everyone running militia, but your old grandpapy, Oh I was running atleast 1 Adv AR a day, now you got your proto 24/7, Back in my day your grandmama was so mad if I spent more than 100k isk a week, now these chil'ren(?) spendin 20 mill isk a day, oohh boy those dare devils..." If I brought my GEK it meant that shit just got real. Not proto real, but real.
