No a scout can't pack on more health then an assault... A Minmatar scout vs a Minmatar Assault... Not a Minmatar Assault vs a useless fitted brick tanked caldari scout that couldn't really accomplish anything...
You take any of the four races a Minmatar Scout vs a Minmatar Assault, Caldari.... Galente... You name it.. Put them in a field and have them duel... The Assault will win every time... They have more health and more damage.
You Put lame players in a match, Give them a pile of SP and what they think is the strongest Fitting ever that should be able to kill anything that exists in DUST and has no counter.... And then put that player in a match and anything that kills them is either Hacks, Lag, FOTM, OP or Sadly CCP's Aim Assist.
Summary : It's not the OP or FOTM make believe you guys keep telling yourself, It's your ability to play the game to advantage what your using. |

(someone's a scout fufufu) Listen I understand that when you have something that's OP you don't want it changed because lol I am gud player. But let's stop for a second and think, "hmmm can my scout suit do the same role as an assault, or a logi, at almost morbidly equal or greater level than the latter?" It's not that scouts are strong at what they do that makes them OP it's that they can do their role and then move to any other role they want without any sacrifice or risk to their suit. If a logi runs like an assault suit they can't switch to sidearms when they run out of ammo on their weapon, unless you're an Amarr logi, but the detriment is that the movement speed is very low. If you're an assault you can run logi but you're limited to one equipment. If you're a heavy you can run a light weapon, but your so slow that you need greater damage output for your HP to mean anything. If you're a scout and you wanna run like an assault... well you run like an assault . If you're a scout and you wanna act like a logi... uhmm you put on equipment like a logi. This is where the issue is, it's not that scouts are good at killing, but it is.
Your obviously new here... So I get that you think that someone is just a scout. I However am over 48 million skill points, i kinda am everything?
I have 5 alts.. each going from 12-28m Skill points. I have played and can play anything this game has had to offer. I Have played this game since Open beta actively and played scarcely in Closed beta as the game gave me a headache then. The head bobbing!
I have been around in this game...
And no.. No scout suit can be a logi better then a logi... Period... I play every logi suit and it doesn't even come close.
No, no scout suit can match the damage abilities, and versatility of a Commando or an Assault.. Math and numbers just say so, playing the game from both roles tells you this just the same.
I hope you aren't saying scouts can be better heavies?
Scouts have one advantage, that, is the ONLY thing that gets people offended and have them thinking they are OP. Prefire. They can track targets through walls and buildings and kill you like you have rarely ever felt in any other multiplayer shooters out there... It annoys people..
Cloak is fine, and probably the most balanced representation of a cloak ever used in multiplayer shooter games to date...
If the Tac-net worked so that you blipped peoples "Dots" on the radar with your advanced scanning instead of having god-mode vision... Then lets you highlight targets that you have had direct eye contact with for a cooldown period... There would be fair and balanced play.
That just won't happen for reasons known, we warned CCP when they introduced the tac-net upgrades and active scanners in dev-blogs, that they would be opening a can of worms with balanced play and how wall-hacks are not the answer for scannng.
At one time the Radar showed every player.. it was like a giant chess match in which everyone could see the pieces.. flanking took skill and was fun.
P.S. Regardless if you see this suit or that suit strong. The Nerf cycle has to stop. This energy needs to be focused on buffing something to compete or create a counter to something that doesn't exist. Not nerfing, it makes no sense.. again in that big picture we where talking about in the very beginning. |

Just because you apparently play every role in the game doesn't mean you understand how to balance the game, it just means you're biased towards every suit and being biased is never good when talking about balance. I get that E-war should be toned down and everything, but that's only a part of what makes the scout suit OP. (I have near 37 million sp on this account not counting my alts read sig broham)
With a scout I don't have to worry about regen,shield delay from stacking, speed, or being seen by the enemy(at least for gal/ cal scouts with maxed out E-war). That would be all fine and dandy if they had to sacrifice something, that couldn't be returned by simply stacking armor/shield modules. As a Proto-Gallente Assault and Scout I can honestly say my scout suit has more killing potential than my assault ever has.
I don't see why you're so defensive about changing scouts so that they're at the same level as every other suit in this game. Say if all scouts suit got for their bonus was efficiency to E-war modules rather than just passive invisibility/infinite vision, that would be much better because then players would HAVE to add E-war mods to get the benefit of their bonus.
Just like assaults only get the benefit of their racial bonus for using their racial weapons and logis get the benefit by running equipment.
That way if I get shotgunned in the back by an invisi-scout I know it's not because he had the cloak(the cloak by it self is garbage) but because he sacrificed low/high slots to try and remain hidden from the team.
Also for how much eHP a scout should have they shouldn't need such a high amount of shield regen, especially not in such a short amount of time...
The Nerf Buff cycle has done nothing but hollow out all of DUST from active players, now it just has a couple bitter vets and a bunch of people that drunk downloaded the game. The fact that you think that nerfing and buffing things is a vital part to DUST speaks pretty loudly about your character. Every gun has been OP every gun has had a nerf.. We have gone full circle in this cycle 3 times and it has again done nothing but make players leave.
I have played every role in this game for a year... then watched it evolve to the point it is now... I know my history of why things got changed and largely when. I have seen every role compete and play in PC against the most competitive entities that existed in this game. You can magically think this makes me biased to the entire game? But you would need alot of drugs to think that makes any sense what so ever, or is a valid argument in any way.
The Problem with your entire scout argument is you seem to think the bells and whistles they have, has suddenly made them able to sneak up on you and use a shotgun. That is sad... Because a decent scout could always do this even for the 4 months scouts spent struggling in competitive play. They still snuck up on you and shotgunned you. The speed, The regeneration speed((Which seems to be your main argument) Has always been there on scouts since their inception when they where called Arbitors not scouts.

Like you seriously said this with a straight face and utter confidence? You put a Proto Gallente Assault and scout in the middle of a field and have them duel.... The Assault wins every time. Why? they have more damage and health.... The thing that scouts sacrifice, you know?. You stack health onto a scout and you loose your big claim to their speed, Ewar, and utility. Every scout knows this and has said this all over these forums thousands of times.
Scouts are not like every suit in the game, nore are heavies or commandoes or assaults or Logi's... They all need distinct differences in both positives and negatives.. Every suit in the game has a counter like the playerbase has been asking for since Uprising 1.0. So if every suit has a counter... Balanced?
Your entire argument is based on your experience with a Gallente proto assault versus your abilities in a Proto Gallente scout.. Might I suggest that you are biased? Kalente Schiffer went Galente Assault after the 1.8 patch when scouts where never stronger in the game... And Assaults arguably UP, in any straight up fight or trying to cloak or be cloaked infront of him... the scout died in seconds.. Whether it is one of the better players in the game or if it is was you. Fast forward now? there is no contest. Except when the Gallente Assault is not paying attention to their surroundings and enemy positions. |

It's easier say what the scout suit can't do, the scout suit can't act a heavy, and it can't act as a commando. It's great that your friend excels at using the assault suit, but that has nothing to do with balance. It's like saying so and so had cancer and ate peanuts and got better, all cancer patients should eat peanuts. Even the ones allergic to peanuts. Like I said the issue with the scout is that It can run roles beyond its intended without risk/losses. It doesn't matter if a gal scout loses every head on engagement with a gal assault, but the fact that the gal scout can run the exact same role without any detriment to itself. I know you say that they lose E-war, speed, and utility, but they have enough of that built in that it doesn't matter if they lose x% of speed, or can't see every cloaked scout in the area. I don't care if my scout can cloak and sneak up and shoot people in the back with shotguns, I've been a scout since 1.3 and haven't seen any buffs until 1.8. And said buffs were unnecessary with the cloak being put in place, at least that's what I personally believe . I REALLY LOVE the nerf/buff cycle. It rewards players for picking suit based on personal preference. If you pick a suit that's comparatively weak it'll eventually get buffed, if you picked a suit that was too strong for its own good and does the role of another suit better than what it should it'll get fixed. Honestly dust is better off with the players that understand that whatever suit/ weapon is too strong compared to other weapons than players that think that their ridiculously strong assault logi or assault scout are perfectly balanced, and "if it's not I'll pick my toys and run home crying that you ruined the suit." Edit: I have no idea where this non-existent damage bonus that assaults get is coming from...
This entire response just proves how silly you are... Your first paragraph counters your own point twice. And it just gets worse from there.
