Well if you think about it differently, CCP probably wanted DUST 514 to succeed in the long-run, something they're known for with EVE. Except the PC long-run can only mean a growing playerbase as upgrading technology does not mean losing backwards compatibility. Consoles are the weakness to CCP's long term but consistent development. Next-gen consoles means everything they worked on on the current generation has to be updated and reworked to fit the architecture of the new.
So you can kinda read it at face-value, a general derision for consoles, or go a bit deeper and interpret it as a hatred for how console generations work and its impact on their beloved console FPS.

Think of it how you like. I will keep in my heart the sheer excitement and enthusiasm for DUST in the CCP Nullarbor and Foxfour that I thought I knew.

Or you could overhaul ps3 version throw it to ps4 transfer all player data and call that an upgrade. Then repeat for ps5. Wow I just blew your mind
Mind blown, CCP should hire you on the spot. Come at me bro, this thread was always going to degrade to a slugfest.
