Alright, this thread needs to die.
1. First and foremost, CCP FoxFour is like one of the best devs at CCP, and one of the top devs we ever had here on DUST. He deserves praise, affection, and cookies. People trying to call him out or get him in trouble should be lined up and shot. /personalopinion
2. CCP FoxFour works on EVE now., when he worked on DUST, he worked heavily on the link to EVE. He also has no bearing on Legion development or whether or not it ever makes it to PS4, or any decisions regarding DUST 514, as he is a software engineer, not an executive, producer, or other high-ranking leadership.
3. Even though CCP FoxFour no longer works on DUST, he's snuck in a few features for DUST players into his work on the API anyways. That speaks to his care and concern for the DUST community, even though he's working on another thing now.

GJR, honestly, the thread makes me angry. I don't like when people point cannons at people who don't deserve it. CCP FoxFour was one of the most interactive devs here on the DUST forums.

Well, he's not active over here anymore because he literally does not work on this game anymore. And that's not necessarily his decision either.

Swatting is a juvenile activity where you find generally, someone streaming their gaming on Twitch, figure out where they live (doxxing, digging up personal details of people you find on the Internet), and call in a fictional bomb threat or something. Then their local police department breaks down their door while the dude's gaming, and the swatter gets to hear it go down on the stream usually.
It's a criminal act, of course, but it can be hard to track down who called it in.

CommanderBolt, CCP FoxFour did not say "f- you" to the DUST playerbase. He indicated he did not like consoles. Personally. I do not like consoles either (I am a PC and Nintendo guy, I have no love for the PlayStation 3), though I will say I am massively committed to supporting console DUST players and the community that they've built.
I've actually never spoken with him personally, but people have their target crosshairs way off if they thing CCP FoxFour has done anything but his absolute best for DUST.
I'm guessing he deleted it because he realized something just like this thread would happen.

CommanderBolt, I do have a trolling streak in me, so sometimes my posts will come off badly too. ;) It's the Goons, man, they rub off on you if you spend too much time near them.
I totally get the anger in the thread. I really do. Because I share it. But there is a wide variety of people who can be blamed for these issues, on the business and leadership side. But CCP FoxFour is just a dude who writes software. He writes the software his bosses tell him to write. (And a little extra for us DUST mercs sometimes.) But he doesn't decide what gets made for console or PC, and in some cases, he might fully agree with you or whomever else, but be unable to say it because one often does not speak contrary to the party line of the company when one wants to remain employed.
My personal view is that the decision to make a PS3 game was not necessarily a mistake. At least, it wasn't to blame for DUST's troubles. CCP bears sole responsibility, in my book, for DUST's success or failure on any platform. The hardware was plenty good enough, as seen by other games. My particular peeve, is the decision to change tracks, and switch platforms, in either direction. Whether Legion succeeds or fails, again, won't be because it's on PC. It'll be whether or not CCP has learned from it's mistakes with DUST.
